The Big Feng Shui news:

On Wednesday, February 4, is the beginning of the new Chinese solar year*. On this day occurs a fundamental planetary energy shift. It happens only every 20 years and affects all existing buildings as well as new ones. In many cases it means a pronounced change in a building's energy pattern and the corresponding life experiences of its people.

For existing buildings, this can either be a change to the better or the worse. It means that whatever direction has brought wealth into the building will loose its power, and that the most favourable direction will be a different one. Where it will be, however, is individual to each house. (I am not trying to keep it from you). It depends on its orientation and age. The location for the most favourable energy for relationships and health also changes.

In some cases, the effect of this change is subtle, like a gentle moving on; in other cases it can be dramatic. Ideally, you should adjust your home or workspace to make the best of the next 20 years. This requires a Feng Shui consultation. This will work out the energy distribution for your individual house, and provide solutions of how you can best tap into the most favourable energies that suit you style and budget.

Houses completed after the 4th of February will end up with entirely new flavours of energy distribution. There will be slightly different experiences that people are likely to face there. This is exciting for me as a Feng Shui consultant. In designing a home or workspace, you will be now able to create a space that is radiant and suitable to you for at least the next 20 years. To maximise the benefit of Feng Shui it should be incorporated in the design and planning stage.

*Note that the Chinese have two calendars, a solar and a lunar calendar. The Chinese New Year that is celebrated is based on the lunar calendar. It occurs later in February.
