The Trust amplifier is not a high powered amp, as it is an old style amplifier… something based on the amplifiers of the sixties and seventies.... it does not use differential amplifier and has no symmetrical supply.
Sounds delicious, and not so young people (over 50 years old) friends will fast recognize the sonic signature… some friends also came to evaluate, I have used children to evaluate too, as they talk the real true... oldie folks felt them coloured but delicious and pleasant sound… the same as I have perceived… children said sound is pleasant.
Power is not more than 25 watts into 4 ohms and 15 watts into 8 ohms... this can increase if you use 70 volts non symmetrical power supply (DX supply modified to give you 70 volts instead of 35 plus 35 volts)...and then the power about will jump to almost 100 watts.... you may need to re-adjust the input transistor base resistance trimpot and re-adjust the bias trim pot.
It is working in class AB..and very low biased. Output emitter resistances are draining some milliamperes only (5 to 15 milliamperes)... frequency response is awesome and simulator results are excellent… total stand by current is adjusted to be no more than 25 milliamperes…and this means 800 milliwatts of power being wasted as heat, a very small power spent, a very green amplifier that operates with 35 volts
Accepting other voltages too.
Enjoy a new DX amplifier...this one, the DX Trust, is a delicious amplifier.
This amplifier, because old style coupling using electrolytic condenser offers you an advantage...if you have burned parts because some accident, or continuous overload...the speakers will not be damaged, the output electrolytic condensers are there to block any DC to the speaker…. Only audio frequencies crosses the amplifier.
