Background Statement

GEM Exploration Management Services is the trading name of Gary Maddocks, Consulting Geologist with over 30 years of Field & Management experience in the Mineral Exploration industry. Previously Exploration Manager with both Homestake and Newmont [1984 to 1994]. Earlier geological positions with Newmont, Jododex and Kennecott spanning 15 years. Established technical background in generating and successfully exploring quality opportunities for gold and base metals. Acquired knowledge of Australian mineral provinces and applicable exploration techniques in a variety of geological and geographical terrains. Overseas exploration experience in India, Indonesia, NZ and Bolivia.

Principal commodities sought & geological/geographical regions explored have included Greenstone Gold in Western Australia & Southern India, Proterozoic Gold in Western Australia, Queensland & Eastern Bolivia; Epithermal Gold in Queensland & Indonesia, Slate Belt Gold in Victoria; Porphyry Gold, Copper & Molybendum in New South Wales, Queensland, Indonesia & NZ; Sedex, VHMS & MVT Base Metals in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland & New South Wales.

Management of Exploration teams of up to 16 geoscienists working across Australia utilising budgets of up to $8.5M.

Achievements include New Celebration, WA, [drill-out of 500,000 ozs Au]; Fortnum and Reedy, WA [drill-out aggregate 650,000 ozs Au]; Discovery of Greenmount Cu-Au [Cloncurry, Qld]; Timbarra Au [NSW].

Post-graduate geological research at Univ of Qld on Sedex base metal mineralisation in Proterozoic Pine Greek Geosyncline, NT.
