In all the excitement I forgot to do the tourguide bit on the last photo! I'll start now...

Welcome to Australia's pride and joy, and the world's largest hunk of rock... oops, I mean Monolith... weighing in at ... quite heavy... soaring over 1000 feet above the flat plain, one mile in length and five and a half miles in circumference.... etc.

Now take note of that part you can see on the right of the photo - the bit sticking out in front further than other bits...*    That's where we start the climb.  It's a  bit daunting, isn't it, when you really think about it?  At least we don't have to climb up that sheer face on the far left, eh?!

*  Not sure which bit I'm talking about?   OK then,
we'll ask John to fly in even closer again.
Hold onto your stomachs!
