Australian Hearing

We provide the best hearing care, the latest hearing-aid technology and we lead the world in hearing research. Audiologists are trained in all of the non-medical sides of hearing services and hearing loss. Areas covered include:

  • Basic hearing testings;
  • Hearing rehabilitation – helping you deal with hearing loss;
  • Hearing aids; and
  • Hearing conservation.

Audiometrists have their expertise mainly confined to basic hearing tests and basic hearing aid fitting.

 

Hearing loss- how common is it?

Acoustic neuromas aside, hearing loss is very common in the Australian population. To put hearing loss in perspective, it is estimated that around 10% of the Australian population has some degree of hearing loss.
