Alexsandra Covek-Nitis

Shihan Alexsandra Covek-Nitis has studied Martial Arts for over 20 years. She currently holds a Sandan (4th Dan) rank in Tora Shintai Karate Do Shotokan Karate, a Sandan (3rd Dan) rank in JKA (Japan Karate Association), Nidan (2nd Dan) rank in Ryu Kon Kai Kobudo and Kobu Ryu Kobudo. Sensei Alexsandra is the owner and founder of Tora Shintai Karate-Do and the NSW President of JKA-WF Australia.

 

She has studied the following forms:

  • Shotokan karate
  • Goju Ryu Karate
  • Judo
  • Kickboxing
  • Okinawan Kobudo

On January 17, 2006, Sensei Alexsandra officially formed ‘Tora Shintai Karate-Do’. Previously she had taught under other Karate organisations.

 

Over the years Shihan Alexsandra had many short and long term goals, competing at a State, National and International level, developing and teaching students and achieving higher ranks.

 

Shihan Alexsandra is trained as a level 1 Martial Arts Instructor under the Martial Arts Industry Association (MAIA), is Senior first Aid accredited and holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Western Sydney.

  

Shihan Alexsanrda has achieved the following:

 

-     Received a Government Sports Achievement Award from Rod Kemp and Chris Bowen in 2006.

-     Entered the ISKA Hall of Fame awards for Instructor of the Year 2007

-     Entered the ISKA Hall of Fame award for Female Black Belt Competitor of the Year 2007

-     Entered the ISKA Hall of Fame award for Female Black Belt Competitor of the Year 2008

 -    First Australian woman to take out 3 world titles at the ISKA USA World Titles 2009   

 -    Australia Day Sports Acheivement Award from Fairfield City Council 2008 and 2009

Shihan Alexsandra’s goal is to:  teach the true art of Karate, where one opens their mind and sets it free from all the violence and trouble on the outside to find peace and happiness within the soul of  learning and teaching Karate-do.
