As the Client As the Designer As the Researcher Communication

Designer Role

Our group consists of a combination of five cultures - Malaysian, Hong Kong, Indonesian and Japanese/ Australian, so we tended to have different views and ideas but were always able to work together in a cooperative manner and agree on what was the best solution. The success of the community was based on the full contribution of all members of the group. The group’s leader Gusriyanto, took initiative to coordinate the team, which lead to the team's success.

The following shows the observation of activities and events happening within the group. It gives a clear description of the members of the group and their responsibility(ies), and also the timeline of our progress in developing a community for the client group.

A meeting was held by the group once the client’s proposal was received and discussion was made to start implementation of client's Virtual Community. Each member of the group was delegated a task and given a short  time to complete it. Members then sent their part to Gusriyanto to upload to the client’s website. After uploading the content to the website, all members had to test out the website and give comments for any areas of improvement. Communication among group members was done by phone, email, online chat and face-to-face meetings. All communication with client’s members were done through virtual communication i.e. email, sms, phone and online chat.
