Central to the success of
Community Living is our commitment to our
clients. We respect and protect the personal information of individuals
with whom we deal.
Collecting
information
Community Living only collects information
about individuals that is required by regulation or in order to fulfil
its regulatory responsibilities to properly and adequately administer
the affairs of its clients. This information is primarily and almost
wholly obtained from the individuals concerned and only relates to
information about body corporate members. We do not collect sensitive
information such as data about race, political or religious beliefs,
sexual preferences, ethnicity, criminal convictions and health
information unless these are necessary for us to properly protect the
individual’s interests (such as health records relating to use of the
gymnasium or other sporting and recreational facilities).
How we use
information
We only use and disclose personal information about individuals for the
purpose for which it was disclosed to us or related purposes which would
reasonably be expected without the permission of the individual.
We only provide
personal information to third parties where that information is
necessary for the third party to undertake work for the body corporate
or to provide services to individuals within the scheme administered by
Community Living.
Keeping information
accurate and up to date
We take all reasonable steps to ensure that all information we hold is
accurate. You may contact us at any time and ask for amendment of your
personal information if you feel that it is inaccurate or incomplete.
Keeping information
secure
We use security procedures and the latest technology to protect the
information we hold. Access to personal information and its use within
Community Living is appropriately limited to
prevent misuse or unlawful disclosure. If third parties are provided
personal information, we require them to appropriately safeguard the
privacy of the information. We may be required by statute to provide
certain personal information to other body corporate members or
tradesmen. In this event we do not provide identifying information such
as telephone or email contacts unless authorised by the individual.
Where the personal information we collect is no longer required, we
delete it.
Access to your
information
You may contact us to request access to your personal information. If
there are legal or administrative reasons to deny access, we will give
you the reason.
Dealing with
Community Living on line
If you visit our website to browse, read or download information, our
system will log these movements. Access to specific body corporate
information or personal details will be password protected to provide
access only to those who have a statutory right to view the relevant
data. Members of a specific body corporate may access minutes of
meetings and body corporate financial accounts and other information.
Personal body corporate accounting information will only be accessible
by the individuals concerned.
