William Robert Robertson was born on 30 April 1864 in Sunderland, Durham, England as the fifth child of John Robertson and Margaret Maven. He had ten siblings, namely: Alexander, Thomas, Margaret, John, Adam, Robert, Archibald, Peter Francis, Daniel, and Agnes.

When he was 26, William married Adeline Jane Hopf, daughter of Carl Hopf and Emma Jane Sewell, on 31 January 1891[1] in Queensland, Australia.

1. Adeline Robertson was born on 05 March 1892 in Eumundi, Queensland, Australia. She died on 10 January 1943 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.

2. Mary Agnes Robertson was born on 22 December 1893 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. She married William John Ward in 1920 in Queensland, Australia. Mary died on 24 February 1939 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.

3. Isabel Robina Robertson was born on 25 January 1895 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. She died on 30 October 1940 in Gladstone, Queensland, Australia.

4. Emma Jane Robertson was born on 26 January 1897 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.She married Reinhold Otto Caplick in 1923 in Queensland, Australia. Emma died on 18 September 1942 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.

5. Lelia Edith Robertson was born on 01 April 1902 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. She married Alfred Julius Zink in 1924 in Queensland, Australia. Lelia died on 14 May 1970 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.

9. Robert William Robertson was born on 08 August 1911 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. He married Agnes Irene Laack in 1932 in Queensland, Australia. Robert died on 19 November 1963 in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.

Adeline died on 9 August 1936[2] in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia, age 68.

William died on 30 April 1944[3] in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia, age 80.
