


William Monsoon Ross was born in 1854 on the ship Monsoon, bound for Australia, as the second child of Angus Ross and Ann Mclennan. He had three siblings, namely: Alice, Alexander, and Ann.
William was employed as a Grocer.
When he was 25, William married Hanorah Mary Teresa Horrigan, daughter of James Joseph Horrigan and Hanorah Fitzgibbon, on 06 January 1879[1] in Presbyterian Church, James street, Toowoomba, Queensland.
William Monsoon Ross and Hanorah Mary Teresa Horrigan had the following children:
1. William Hardy Ross was born on 25 October 1879 in Toowoomba, Queensland. He died on 28 November 1952 in Brisbane, Queensland.
2. Edmund Angus Ross was born on 27 April 1881 in Queensland. He married Mary Ann Caroline Polly Downey on 23 May 1906 in Newtown, New South Wales. He died on 09 November 1955.
3. Alexander Herbert Ross was born in 1883 in Toowoomba, Queensland. He married Mary Emma May Hockey in 1910 in Murwillumbah, New South Wales. He died in
1947 in Brisbane, Queensland.
4. Lillian Alice Ross was born on 06 November 1885. She died on 06 March 1886.
5. James Edwin Ross was born in 1887 in Queensland. He died in Queensland.
6. Bertram Thomas Ross was born on 02 August 1889 in Queensland. He married Gertrude Elizabeth Bergin on 11 August 1910. He died in 1971 in Brisbane, Queensland.
7. May Angela Ross was born on 01 September 1892 in Toowoomba, Queensland. She married John Joseph Keating on 27 November 1920. She died in 1979 in New Farm, Queensland.
8. Ivy Monsoon Ross was born on 28 February 1896 in Toowoomba, Queensland. She married Cecil Edward Long on 17 Apr 1922. She died on 01 August 1994 in Brisbane, Queensland.
In 1908, William lived in Morgan St, Fortitude Valley.
In 1935, William lived at 155 Sydney Street, New Farm.
William died on 22 August 1935[2] in Brisbane, Queensland, age 81.
