WILLIAM HARDY ROSS
24 October 1879 - 28 November 1952

William Hardy Ross was born on 24 October 1879[1] in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia as the first child of William Monsoon Ross and Honorah Mary Teresa Horrigan. He had seven siblings, namely: Edmund Angus, Alexander Herbert, Lillian Alice, James Edwin, Bertram Thomas, May Angela, and Ivy Monsoon.

 

He served in the military in The Boer War in South Africa between 1899 – 1902[2] .

His Unit was 5th Queensland Imperial Bushmen.

 

He served in the military in World War 1 in South Africa between 21 August 1914 –

27 September 1917[3]. William served as a private.

 

He died on 28 November 1952[4] in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, age 73.
