Thomas Chaunt was born on 24 October 1630 in Stoke-Sub-Hamdon, Yeovil, Somerset, England as the first child of William Chaunt and Edith Stone. He had four siblings, namely: John, William, Jane, and Jone.

Thomas Chaunt married Gartheret Hendy.

Thomas Chaunt and Gartheret Hendy had the following children:

1. Joanne Chaunt was born on 10 May 1662 in Somerset, England.

2. Thomas Chant was born on 15 May 1665 in Somerset, England. Thomas married Mary Virgin. He died in 1757 in Somerset, England.

Thomas died on 03 December 1670 in Stoke-Sub-Hamdon, Yeovil.
