Louis Olsen was born in 1878[1] in Queensland, Australia as the fourth child of Neils Carl Christian Rudolph Olsen and Katrine Hannsen. He had seven siblings, namely: Charles Torvald (Thorwald), Catherine Amelia, Mary, Jessie, Charlotte, Elizabeth, and Alfred.

Louis was employed as a waterside worker.

Louis died suddenly at his address, 22 Newstead Terrace Newstead, on 24 March 1944[2] in Queensland, Australia, age 66.
