Johanna Marion Josephine Horrigan was born on 26 May 1866 in Queensland, Australia as the tenth child of James Joseph Horrigan and Hanorah Fitz-Gibbons. She had nine siblings, namely: Ellen, Cornelius, Thomas J, Mary, Margaret Agnes, Catherine, John, James Edward, and Honorah Mary Teresa.

When she was 19, She married William Cubitt Clowes, son of William Church Clowes and Charlotte Base, on 2 November 1885[1] in Queensland, Australia.

William was a chemist in St George, Queensland, Australia.

William Cubitt Clowes and Johanna Marion Josephine Horrigan had the following children:

1. Mary Charlotte Clowes was born on 13 December 1886 in Queensland, Australia. She married Charles William Allen in 1906 in Queensland, Australia. Mary  died in 1961 in Queensland, Australia.

2. William Gladstone Clowes was born on 18 February 1890 in Queensland, Australia. He married Elsie May Shervey in 1922 in Queensland, Australia. William died in 1966 in Queensland, Australia.

3. Harold Manning Clowes was born on 22 April 1892 in Queensland, Australia. He married Catherine Elizabeth Cahill in 1927 in Queensland, Australia. He died in 1980 in Queensland, Australia.

4. Gertrude Evangeline Clowes was born on 28 July 1894 in Queensland, Australia. She married Stuart Stewart Dawson on 09 April 1920. Gertrude died in 1932 in London, England.

5. John Clowes was born in 1901 in Queensland, Australia. He married Rosie Lamb in 1925 in Queensland, Australia.

6. Dorothea Clowes was born on 26 January 1904 in Augathulia, Queensland. She married Arthur Victor Miller in 1932 in Sydney New South Wales, Australia. Dorothea died on 08 December 1988 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

William died on 17 March 1912[2] in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, age 52.

Johanna died on 15 October 1920[3] in Queensland, Australia, age 54.
