



George Ward was born in 1804 in Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire, England as the third child of John Ward and Ann Baxter. He had seven siblings, namely: George, Mary, Charlotte, Frances, James, William, and Sarah.
When he was 23, George married Jane Housden, daughter of Thomas Housden and Mary, on 14 October 1827.
When he was 48, George arrived in Australia with his family aboard the ship ‘Argyle’ on 19 July 1852. He was listed as a Carpenter, Church of England and reads.
George Ward and Jane Housden had the following children:
1. James Ward was born in 1828.
2. William Ward was born on 15 December 1835 in Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire, England.
3. Lucy Ward was born in 1837 in Cambridgeshire, England. She married William Henry Fielder in 1856. She married Henry Welch on 15 April 1885. She died on 23 February 1912 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
4. Charlotte Ward was born on 30 August 1840 in Cambridgeshire, England. She died on 09 January 1879 in Queensland.
5. Mary Ward was born in 1842 in Cambridgeshire, England. She died on 21 January 1895.
6. John Ward was born in 1845 in Cambridgeshire, England.
7. George Ward was born in 1848 in Cambridgeshire, England. He died on 03 June 1915 in Queensland.
George died on 27 September 1860[1] in South Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, age 56.
