Frederick William Borchardt was born on 01 October 1863 in Berlin Stadt, Brandenburg, Prussia, Germany as the third child of Christian Friedrich Borchardt and Maria Elisabeth Koppen. He had three siblings, namely: Mary Hannah Dora, Ernest, and Hannah Frederica Louisa.

When he was 18, he married Annie Frederika Schmierer,daughter of Carl Frederick Schmierer and Florence Evelina Harrison, on 24 February 1882[1] in Gayndah, Queensland, Australia.

Frederick died on 23 December 1929[2] in Gayndah, Queensland, Australia, age 66.

Annie died on 29 August 1950[3] in Gayndah, Queensland, Australia, age 86.
