Edmund Angus Ross was born on 27 April 1881[1] in Queensland, Australia as the second child of William Monsoon Ross and Honorah Mary Teresa Horrigan. He had seven siblings, namely: William Hardy, Alexander Herbert, Lillian Alice, James Edwin, Bertram Thomas, May Angela, and Ivy Monsoon.

When he was 25, He married Mary Ann Caroline Polly Downey, third eldest daughter of T.W. Downey, on 23 May 1906[2] at the bride's parents' house Forbes-street, Newtown, New South Wales, Australia.  The service was conducted by Rev. louis Herbert Field, a Baptist priest.

Edmund died on 09 November 1955[3] in Teralba, New South Wales, Australia, age 74
