THE LATE MR. JOHN TIMBS - Illawarra Mercury (Wollongong, NSW : 1856 - 1950) Tuesday 22 December 1896 p 2 Article

THE LATE MR. JOHN TIMBS - The Great Reaper has again been busy in the neighborhood of Marshall Mount. Very recently Mrs. Timbs, wife of Mr. Henry Timbs, was called away, and on the night of the 13th inst. their eldest son, John, was summoned. For a long time past he had been in poor health, suffering from an affection of the liver, but more recently his condition seemed to improve, and hopes were entertained of his recovery, but it was not to be. He had resided at Marshall Mount, engaged in farming pursuits, for the last six years, enjoying the confidence and respect of those who knew him as a man of strict integrity, a good neighbor, kind husband, and devoted father. His remains were followed to the Wesleyan cemetery,

Marshall Mount, by a large concourse of mourners, Rev. J. S. Austin officiating. Great sympathy is felt for the bereaved widow and five young children.
