August Julius Vock was born in 1895[1] in Queensland, Australia as the ninth child of Peter Vock and Mary Borchardt. He had eight siblings, namely: Mary, Louisa, John Peter, William, Ernest, Charles Henry, Johanna Mary Ann, and Peter Marten (Martin).

August died in 1965[2] in Queensland, Australia, age 70.
