Anna Maria Erbacher was born on 14 December 1853 in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany as the third child of Friedrich Erbacher and Anna Margaretha Margaret Edinger. She had seven siblings, namely: Carl, Adam, Mary, Peter, Charles Frederick, Katherine, and Leonard.

Anna Maria died in 1855 on the voyage out to Australia from Hamberg on the 'Aurora', age just 13 months.
