About Ross Family Tree

Angus Ross was born on 08 April 1829 in Forres, Moray, Scotland as the third child of Donald Ross and Elizabeth Falconer. He had eight siblings, namely: Elizabeth, William, John, Grace, Donald, George, Alice Aloes Henrietta, and Henry.

 

Angus married Ann McLennan, daughter of William McLennan and Christian Dunbar in Scotland.

 

Angus arrived in Australia, with his wife and child Alice, as assisted immigrants on 13 August 1854 on the ship ‘Monsoon’. His son William was born on board during the journey.

 

Angus Ross was employed as a Wheelwright and Cartwright.

 

Angus Ross and Ann McLennan had the following children:

 

1. Alice Ross was born in 1853 in Forres, Moray, Scotland. She died in 1929 in Subiaco, Western Australia, Australia.

 

2. William Monsoon Ross was born in 1854 on the ship ‘Monsoon’. He married Hanorah Mary Teresa Horrigan on 06 January 1879 in Presbyterian Church, James street, Toowoomba, Queensland. He died in August 1935 in Brisbane, Queensland.

 

3. Alexander Ross was born on 27 October 1857 in Brisbane, Queensland. He married Julia Sarah Baker on 03 June 1879 in Brisbane Queensland. He died on 03 November 1909 in Brisbane, Queensland.

 

4. Ann Ross was born on 01 November 1860 in Queensland. She married Alfred William Nelson in 1887. She died on 21 Jan 1900.

 

Angus died on 25 Oct 1893[1] in Brisbane, Queensland, age 64, at 6 o'clock in the morning from a paralytic stroke.

EJECTMENT - Matthew Hart appeared in answer to a summons charging him with having neglected to deliver up possession of a house in Brunswick street, Fortitude Valley, of which Angus Ross was the lawful owner, after receiving due notice to quit on the 16th instant. After hearing the evidence of the complainant,

the bench ordered a warrant to issue on the 1st October, authorising Mr W H Brown to act as special bailiff to enter the house and deliver possession of it to the complainant.The defendant was ordered to pay 7s. Costs.
