Albert Arthur Hockey was born in 1889[1] in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia as the fourth child of Charles Hockey and Mary Ann Langley. He had four siblings, namely: Charles Henry Hill, David Daniel Percival, Mary Emma May, and Samuel Spencer.

Albert Arthur Hockey was employed by as a carter.

When he was 21, He married Jean Heather Cross, daughter of Richard Cross and Esther Anne Draper, on 14 July 1910[2] in Queensland, Australia.

Albert Arthur Hockey and Jean Heather Cross had the following children:

1. Charles Richard James Hockey was born on 19 October 1910. He married Alice Agnes Lynch in 1940 in Taree, New South Wales.

2. Albert Arthur Hockey was born in 1913 in Queensland, Australia. He died in 1914 in Queensland, Australia.

Albert died on 20 April 1963[3] in Krambach, New South Wales, Australia, age 74.
