Attaching a File to email

We will attach a photograph of Nicholas Clemens (1833) to an email message.  The file (Nicholas_1.jpg) is a JPEG file type has been previously stored in a folder on a hard disk.  The size of the stored file is 198 KB and therefore it will transmit over a common telephone line in about 50 seconds (198/4 = 49.5)
The physical size of the original file is 380 x 530 pixels and is shown here at about 1/2 size.  Therefore this photograph will display as a complete image on a 800 x 600 pixel monitor. Avoid sending photographs that are physically too large to display as a complete image on a computer monitor.

Email editor
Here we see the email application Outlook, using Word as the email editor.  The email message has been written and we are about to attach a photograph. We use  Insert > File...  The file dialogue window appears.  We navigate to the storage location for the file, select the file and click on Insert.  The file is attached to the email message.
After attaching the file to the email message we click on Send and the email message with the attached file is sent.
