There has been some disagreement on the true meaning of the gun-shots heard in the last moment of the show...

And I think I know what it was.

No, it's unlikely Kirika and Mireille were killed. From the viewpoint of Soldats, Kirika, Mireille, and the director of the series, it doesn't make sense for Kirika to die minutes after she chose to live.

Anyway, has anyone heard the gun-shots with their eyes shut?

The two shots came from different weapons. The sound of the first shot was deeper in pitch than the second.

This might sound sad, but I've learned to recognize Kirika and Mireille's weapon sound effects. The first shot came from Kirika's Beretta, while the second comes from Mireille's Walther.

This could mean many things, but it does seem likely that Kirika and Mireille will live for a very long time.
