Supporting Characters

Fuyutsuki Kouzou
Second in command only to Commander Ikari, Fuyutsuki is often placed in charge of NERV when Ikari is off at his "meetings". He is often rather kind, although his first priority is keeping a good profile on NERV. Fuyutsuki is aware of Ikari's devious plans and sometimes even shows signs of disapproval for what he is doing. However, Fuyutsuki never oversteps his authority and therefore never confronts Ikari about what he thinks. It is hinted that in his days as a college professor, he had feelings for Yui (who was one of his students at that time) before she married Gendou. Fuyutsuki's seiyuu is Kiyokawa Motomu.
Suzuhara Touji (Fourth Child)
When Touji first met Shinji, he had an immense dislike for him and beat him up, thinking that the Evangelions had hurt his sister. However, later he sees how much danger Shinji places himself in to keep Tokyo safe and comes to be Shinji's friend. Although he appears oblivious to Hikari's feelings for him, he is really quite a sensitive guy. In episode 17, he is informed that he is the Fourth Child and agrees to pilot Unit 03 on the condition that they place his sister in a good hospital facility. However, because of a tragic incident, his "usefulness" as the Fourth Child is short-lived. Touji's seiyuu is Seki Tomokazu.
Aida Kensuke
Kensuke is an otaku in every sense of the word. He is obsessed with seeing the Evangelions and Angels in battle, and longs to pilot one. Kensuke's father works with the government, often enabling to obtain classified information concerning the Evangelions. He shares Toji's boyish crush on Misato and is also good friends with Shinji. His seiyuu is Iwanaga Tetsuya.
Horaki Hikari
Hikari is the class representative and Asuka's closest friend at school. She is a kind and caring girl who has a soft spot for Touji. She later starts making lunch for Touji, whom has no time to make his own and always has to buy them. Later in the series, Misato gives Hikari PenPen to look after. Her seiyuu is Iwao Junko.
Nagisa Kaworu (Fifth Child)
Kaworu only appears in episode 24 when SEELE presents him to NERV as the Fifth Child to replace Asuka. (Because of spoilers I will not mention why Asuka needed to be replaced. Read the episode guide if you wish to know.) He immediately takes a liking to Shinji and is perfect with synchronizing with the Evangelion, causing Misato to become suspicious. In the short time he and Shinji are together, they develop a unique friendship -- until Kaworu's true identity is discovered. Kaworu's seiyuu is Ishida Akira.
Ikari Yui
At the time the TV series is set (2015 AD), Yui had already passed away in during a past experiment with the Evangelions. She is Shinji's mother and is seen in many flashbacks and also in Shinji's mental conscience during some traumatic situations. It is clear that she and Gendou were very much in love and her death triggered something off in Gendou. Her seiyuu is Hayashibara Megumi.
Ibuki Maya
Maya is one of the three NERV technicians whom works closely with the Evangelions, the Children pilots and their battles with the Angels. She looks up a lot to Ritsuko especially in the area of her computer skills. Her seiyuu is Nagasawa Miki.
Hyuga Makoto
Hyuga is the second of the three main NERV technicians. He works the most closely with Misato whom he has a huge crush on despite being fully aware of the relationship she has with Kaji. As such, he often risks his position and job to obtain any classified information that Misato asks for. Most of the time Misato treats him just like the other technicians (except for making him pick up her dry-cleaning, that is ^^;;) so as not to mislead him into thinking that she feels the same way. His seiyuu is Hiro Yuuki.
Shigeru Aoba
Aoba is the last of the three main NERV technicians and is featured the least probably because he has no strong attraction to any of the main characters like the other two do. He is mostly quiet but has it together and is able to keep a clear mind in times of danger (as seen in End of Evangelion). His seiyuu is Koyasu Takehito.
