Episode Guide (Spoilers Ahead)
Here is a relatively brief summary of each of the 26 episodes in Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040. There are huge spoilers on this page, so much that if you read it all, you'll have no more surprises left in the show. You have been warned. ^_^
Episode 1: Can't Buy a Thrill
Linna Yamazaki has just arrived in Tokyo after a massive earthquake and is quite impressed with how they have managed to restore the city. She has lunch with her friend before they head off to her new job at Hugh-Geit. They realize that they are late and hurry off with their lunch, but Linna drops her lunch when a motorbike swerves, just missing her. In anger she chases the biker (who happens to be Priss. S. Asagiri), but Priss gets away. She is late for work, and gets punished. Her supervisor, Cain, asks her for a date and she obliges. Later that night, they go out, and Linna realizes that he is a jerk and he runs away when a rogue boomer attacks the restaurant they are dining at. Since the exit is blocked by panicked people, Linna chooses to run through a side stairway, but the boomer pursues her. The staircase breaks and she is left hanging there, screaming, but the Knight Sabers go into action. Priss rescues her and smashes the boomer's core. From then on, Linna is determined to become a member of this group.
Episode 2: Fragile
Still eager to join the infamous group called the Knight Sabers, Linna follows Priss (whom she knows is the blue Knight Saber). Priss enters a clothing store called Silky Doll, and Linna peers inside and sees her talking to a blue-haired lady (Sylia). They disappear in a change-room, and Linna decides to enter. She calls for someone, and when she gets no response, goes into the change-room herself. This takes her to a secret underground base and there she is confronted by Sylia, Nene and Priss. She is a little hindered by all of them, but tells them that she wants to join their group. Sylia decides to test her by letting her experience a simulated battle that they had to fight. Linna accepts and and is shocked by the horror that they were put through.
Episode 3: Keep me Hanging On
Priss takes her bike to Nigel for "fixing" and tells him that Sylia needs a new hardsuit. Nigel contributes only a few words to the conversation and Priss leaves. Later, Nigel drops by Sylia's place, where she shamelessly flirts with him. But despite the revealing clothing Sylia is wearing, Nigel does not seem all that interested. He stays focused on making a new green hardsuit, and adds some new features to it to test. When Nene and Linna arrive at Sylia's place later on, Linna is told to try the hardsuit on and she does so, enjoying the incredible flexibility it offers. As Sylia and Nene watch from up above, they get an emergency call from Priss telling them that a waitress boomer has gone rogue and that she is trapped. Sylia doesn't have a choice; she has to send the newly recruited Linna along with Nene to save Priss.
Episode 4 : Machine Head
Nene and Linna arrive at the scene, only to find that the AD Police has beaten them to it. However, Leon and Daley's guns do little to hinder the boomer, but this gives Priss a chance to escape. Linna and Nene attempt to find the boomer's core, but Nene gets knocked down. This causes Linna to lunge at the boomer, but suddenly her suit malfunctions and freezes up. Unable to move, and with the AD Police shooting at her, Linna cries to Sylia to help her, but Sylia can't do anything. Nene tries to attack the boomer, but is easily knocked down again. Just as it seems too late for Linna, Priss enters the scene again only this time in her hardsuit, and smashes the boomer's core. The Knight Sabers quickly escape before the AD Police can catch them.
Back inside the Mobile Pit, Linna apologizes to Sylia for letting them down, but Sylia and Nene tell her that she did a great job for a first time. Priss, however, is angry at Sylia for letting Linna go out without any experience, and leaves. Elsewhere, a boomer that is being fixed thanks the mechanic for his service, and walks off. However, a while later, it goes rogue and turns on the mechanic.
Episode 5: Rough and Ready
The rogue boomer attacks the mechanic guy in charge of maintaining him, while the Knight Sabers, having received news of this rogue boomer, gather and prepare for action. Little do they know, however, that the rogue boomer was all part of Mason and Quincy Rosenkroitz's plan to capture the KS. Meanwhile, the AD Police try to take out the boomer and Leon and Daley arrive. The Knight Sabers finally arrive at the scene and Priss and Linna wait to take out the boomer while Nene connects some devices together that will alter the boomer's function. After Nene gives the go ahead, Priss and Linna attack the boomer while Leon and Daley watch as does Rosenkroitz. Linna smashes the boomer's core while Priss and Nene hold it down and the boomer is destroyed. The Knight Sabers try to make their get away, but the ADP start shooting at them and Linna gets hit. She starts to fall and tries to fire up her battery but it fails. Nene shouts for her....
Episode 6: Get it On
Linna falls to the ground but tells Nene that she's all right, but her battery is down. However, this may not be for long as a guy from the AD Police in a K-suit starts firing at her, despite the fact that Leon protests that they're not supposed to kill the Knight Sabers, just capture them. The guy in the K-suit ignores Leon and keeps firing, but Priss comes down and smacks him on the head saying, "An enemy is an enemy." Nene dives down to get Linna, but as she is escaping, she gets hit and both girls fall. Priss tries to hold off the ADP, but her battery dies as well and all three are trapped. Just as they get ready to die, Sylia makes an awesome entrance! Dailey comments "Interesting. I haven't seen this one in a while." The ADP try to attack Sylia, but she beats them no competition. Her hardsuit seems the most highly equipped out of all of them and the Knight Sabers manage to escape.
Later on, a boy is seen on a rocket plane, looking out the window as it gets ready to land in Tokyo. Elsewhere, Priss tells Nigel that he's needed over at Sylia's place to fix the hardsuits, which have all been damaged in the previous incident. Over at Sylia's house, however, the boy on the plane has arrived at her doorstep claiming to be her brother, Macky Stingray. Henderson states that he thought that Sylia had no brothers or sisters, but Sylia immediately warmly greets Macky and gets him settled in, saying, "The only thing that matters is that you are my real brother." When Nigel arrives at Sylia's place, Macky watches Nigel fix the hardsuits, fascinated and impressed by how he manages them. However, Sylia gets mad at him for being down there and they have a really awkward dinner. Later that night, Macky sneaks back down to where Nigel is and offers him a basket of food, which Nigel accepts much to Macky's delight. After a while, Nigel allows Macky to help him and asks him to get a spare part for him. Excited, Macky immediately rushes off to get it, but doesn't know his way around yet and accidentally walks in Linna, Priss and Nene changing!!!! Nene screams and Macky runs back to where Nigel is, panicked. However, the three girls follow him down and surround him, and Nigel explains that Macky is Sylia's brother. A slip of the tongue causes Nene to chase Macky around the room. ("I didn't see anything! Yeah, I didn't see your pink underwear!" ^_^).
Episode 7: Look at Yourself
Deep underwater, the Hi Pressure (HP) boomer base is being operated by a man named Bill Noinberg. He calls his wife, Erin, from there to tell her that he is trying to make it back for their anniversary and is sorry that he missed her birthday. She, however, is unforgiving and hangs up on him. When he plays back the visual conversation, he sees a picture of a naked man attached to her watch and knows something is going on.
Nene is testing her newly fixed hardsuit, when Sylia enters and tells Macky to go upstairs and not get involved in all of this. Reluctantly, Macky obeys, but later he follows Nigel back to his garage. He is extremely impressed by the bike that Nigel is making, and watches fascinated. Meanwhile, Sylia meets up with her contact, and he supplies her with news about the latest boomer activity. She pays him and leaves. The HP boomer goes over to Erin's house where she is with her "affair". When the AD Police enter to ask her questions, her "affair" runs off, and Erin is greatly troubled by the HP boomer as it is the one her husband operates. Sylia notifies the Knight Sabers that there is rogue boomer activity and Priss and Nene dispatch. Linna, however, joins Sylia in the Mobile Pit as her hardsuit isn't ready yet. Unknown to them, though, Priss' suit isn't ready either, and Macky realizes this and quickly runs to Nigel's place for help. Nigel is drunk and asleep and doesn't seem to care very much, so Macky has to fix the communicator and manages to contact Sylia and tell her that Priss' suit wasn't ready yet. However, Priss and Nene are already fighting the boomer, and Priss' arm freezes up. Macky and Nigel offer instructions to Priss to help her break the hold, and Priss destroys the boomer's core. She and Nene quickly leave as the AD Police have arrived on the scene.
In the aftermath of the HP boomer's rampage, Leon and Dailey explain to Erin that her husband died one month ago, and therefore could not be controlling the boomer. They also tell her that her husband was intending to come home for three weeks starting with their anniversary - today - and show her the watch he bought for her. Erin realizes that her husband really did love her, and weeps for him and for her own stupidity.
Episode 8: Fireball
Priss does not seem to be responding too well to an interview, she gives only one-word answers and hardly looks interested. When she later visits Nigel at his garage, she finds that Macky is helping Nigel build a bike, and does not take this too well as she wanted to be his assistant. She leaves, and speeds, so Leon and Dailey tail her. When they stop, Leon tries to hit on her, but all he gets are harsh responses before Priss leaves. Elsewhere, Sylia waits for Macky to return home for dinner, and when Macky finally enters, he is wearing a outfit that Sylia picked out for him. This pleases Sylia, although she knows that he has been over at Nigel's place. She asks what Nigel is doing, and Macky replies that he is building a bike. He then goes on to say that he thinks the bike is for Priss, and this angers Sylia. Macky realizes that Sylia has changed, and tells her that he will stay at Nigel's place from now on. Sylia is considerably upset. Meanwhile, Linna is sleeping over at Nene's house.
A rogue boomer on a speeding vehicle is spotted and Sylia dispatches the Knight Sabers, minus Priss, as she cannot get in contact with her. Priss is elsewhere, singing at Hot Legs with her band Sekiria. Nene and Linna struggle just to catch up with the boomer, so obviously destroy its core is a big problem. Macky contacts Sylia, and tells her to meet up with him and Nigel at Nigel's garage, as they can get Priss to ride the bike that Nigel has been making -- the Motor Slave. Sylia agrees, and rushes there. Nene and Linna are still struggling with the boomer, when Sylia tells them to drop back because Priss is going to ram it. They are shocked, but obey. Priss, after getting instructions from Macky, launches and manages to ram right through the boomer's core, thus destroying it. Later, she goes to Hot Legs after it is closed, and sings to herself, but Macky, Linna, Nene and Leon start clapping, and she continues to sing.
Episode 9: My Nation Underground
A man is working in the sewer tunnels with a boomer when suddenly they are attacked.
Episode 10: Woke up with a Monster
The Knight Sabers and ADP stand in shock as they behold the strange creature which is devouring boomers right before their very eyes. The monster disappears beneath the sewers again, and Sylia quickly recovers from her shock and tells the KS to retreat immediately. The next day, Sylia replays the incident involving the monster and is surprised by how scared she is. Priss enters and tells Sylia that she can't handle it anymore and that she should take Nene off the team. Sylia smiles and asks, "Are you in a gambling mood, Priss?" Elsewhere, Nene expresses her concerns to Macky about her not being good enough for the team anymore while Macky tries to comfort her. Nene suddenly freaks out after a her pager makes her realize that Leon and Dailey have gone down into the tunnel to look for the monster themselves. She is absolutely correct as they are making their way through the tunnels as she speaks, and they have managed to locate the monster, as well as a number of dead bodies and boomers. As they are looking around, the monster suddenly appears and attempts to eat Leon too, but Priss (in her suit) arrives just in time to move him out of the way. She and Linna then attack the monster and try to destroy it, while elsewhere Nene hacks into computer to determine its weak point. Trouble arises when the monster picks up both Linna and Priss and neutralize their suits so they can't move. Priss makes a comment about her losing the bet, which makes Linna ask, "what bet?" Priss explains that she made a bet with Sylia. (Flashback: Sylia tells Priss that if Priss performs better than Nene in the mission, she wins and Nene is off the team. However, if Nene does better then Priss has to do Sylia a little favor. Priss agrees to the bet.)
In the Mobile Pit, Sylia yells at Macky to prepare her hardsuit, while Nene continues to hack into the monster's design prints. Sylia arrives at the scene, but much to her horror, her suit gets neutralized as well. For some reason she begins to think of a young girl (herself) getting washed up on the beach, and then a giant wave nearly crashing down on her, right after she whispers "Daddy?" Sylia breaks out of her thoughts as Nene comes and fires at the monster's mouth (it's weak point). It collapses, and the Knight Sabers escape. Mason is informed about the happenings. The next day, Priss is dressed in a pink, frilly dress with Nene pulling at her face. Sylia, Linna, Macky and Henderson are laughing as Sylia takes a photo of her. (This happens to be the "favor" Sylia was referring to in the bet ^_~).
Episode 11: Sheer Heart Attack
Linna decides to go home to the country for a few days, and tells Priss to inform Sylia of her absence. Priss agrees to tell Sylia, and Linna catches the train home and arrives early. She goes to her house and sees that her parents are having some sort of huge family dinner. She enters, and after some rude and insensitive comments from her relatives, mumbles "I'll take boomers over my relatives any day." After they have left, Linna sits outside with her mother and they have a nice conversation. Her mother tells her that she and Linna's father want Linna to meet up with a son of some people, and Linna is exasperated. However, she agrees for her parents' sake and is pleasantly surprised by the the boy, Masaki. She and Masaki get on very well and go for a stroll in the night. The next day, Nene is at work when she is notified of a huge military boomer gone rogue. She, however, can't get out of work and thus cannot help Priss fight it. Nene calls Linna, who is having a nice walk with Masaki and tells Linna that Priss really needs her help. Linna is torn between staying with Masaki or facing up to her responsibility to the Knight Sabers.
Episode 12: Made in Japan
The ADP are told not to fire at the huge rogue boomer yet, while the MOD take shots at it. Priss hurries to get into her hardsuit, while Sylia informs her that she'll have to go solo b/c Nene can't get out of work and she just found out that Linna is not even in the city. Priss then remembers that she was supposed to tell Sylia that Linna was out of town and decides to tell Sylia now. Except she puts in such a way that makes it seem as if Linna's not coming back making Sylia yell "WHAT?!" Meanwhile, Linna has to decide whether or not to return back to Tokyo or stay and have dinner with Masaki. Linna eventually decides to return to Tokyo and has to borrow money from Masaki to catch the plane. Elsewhere, Leon starts firing at the boomer and Priss shows up and starts fighting with it but she can't find its core. Nene is trying to hack into the MOD system to find the schematics to the boomer and where the core is. Linna shows up much to Macky's relief and immediately changes into her hardsuit. She reaches Priss just in time to change her battery from her hardsuit and Nene hacks into the MOD. Priss destroys the core and they leave.
Later on, Mason and Quincy talk about some stuff in their usual drone while Macky and the rest of the KS eat at Sylia's place. Macky asks Nene to teach him some computer stuff, and Nene yells at him for not calling her "Miss Nene". When Macky returns home to Nigel's garage he is shocked to find that Mason is there. Mason recognizes him also, but Nigel quickly lies that he is just his assistant. After Mason has left, Macky asks Nigel if he told Mason about Sylia, but he won't reply. Meanwhile, Nene can't stop thinking about Macky, so she checks out some files on the Stingray family. However, she discovers that Macky was exactly the same age 10 years ago! This shocks her. Back over at Nigel's, Macky is still asking whether or not he said anything about Sylia to Mason. Nigel is drinking and tells Macky to shut up and go to bed and throws his bottle at him. Macky has a weird expression on his face.
Episode 13: Atom Heart Mother
Sylia goes to see Dr. Shan, and he decides to help her find her father's buried Wiz Lab before Mason can. They detail out a plan. Elsewhere, Macky is helping Nigel fix Priss' bike, when Nene arrives. Nene tells Macky that she'll talk to him later, as she really came to see Priss. Once Nene and Priss are alone, Nene asks questions about Sylia's past and why she hates boomers so much. Priss wonders why Nene is so interested all of a sudden, but doesn't really offer any answers. Later on, Nene asks Macky questions about his past and Sylia , and this makes him uncomfortable. Nigel constructs a device for Sylia to help her locate the lab.
Sylia decides to recruit the help of her fellow Knight Sabers in searching for the lab, but refuses to tell them what is in the lab. This makes everyone extremely suspicious, especially Nene, who informs Sylia that she has been looking into some secret files and has discovered some disturbing news. This horrifies Sylia, but it doesn't stop Nene from telling Linna and Priss about how there were no files to indicate that Macky ever existed and that the earthquake had been caused by someone who pushed a button in order to prevent something in the lab from escaping. This infuriates Priss and Nene asks again, "Tell me, Sylia, what was in the lab that was so important that they had to destroy a whole city?" Sylia looks sad but says, "I'm sorry, but I can't tell you that. But I swear, it has nothing to do with Macky" to which Nene yells, "You swear! Why the hell should I believe anything you say ever again?!" and runs off. Linna calls for her, and Sylia tells Priss and Linna that they can leave if they want as well. However, both agree that despite the fact that Sylia had lied to them, it doesn't change the fact that there is something dangerous out there that needs to be found. Sylia thanks them, and they set off in their hardsuits to begin the search. A spy has been waiting for this moment, and immediately contacts Mason to tell him that they've gone. This makes Mason smile wickedly.
Episode 14: Shock Treatment
Both Linna and Priss are going at it non-stop to find the lab by firing EMP signals, and when Priss finally locates it, she is surprised by how forcefully Sylia tells her not to enter. Priss, much to Sylia's relief, listens, but only because her battery back is low. She and Linna make Sylia promise that she won't do anything to the lab without them. Sylia promises, but breaks this promise when she plans to destroy the lab by herself. She borrows a large cannon-like gun and equipped in her hardsuit, enters the Wiz Lab which Priss had uncovered earlier on. Mason and his men, however, are also there and enter the lab as well. Sylia makes her way around the tunnels, carrying this large gun, and after entering some codes into the computers there, prepares to destroy the lab.
Meanwhile, Nene has realized what Sylia is doing and immediately contacts Linna and Priss to tell them. All of them angry at Sylia for lying to them, agree to "bash the crap out of her" after they have saved her butt. They put on their hardsuits, and head off. Macky, also looking for Sylia, taps into the cameras near the tunnel and knows that Sylia is there. He rushes to the scene as well. Back underground, Sylia charges up her gun, just as Mason and his men arrive to stop her. Mason knows that it is her under that hardsuit, and Sylia angrily tells him that she wont let him have "it". She shoots before Mason can stop her, but he tells her that it is too late, just as Macky arrives. Sylia is horrified that Macky is here, and he is in a trance and is drawn towards what Sylia is trying to destroy. The other Knight Sabers arrive, and are equally as shocked to see Macky there. Sylia begs for Macky to stop moving towards the lab, but he doesn't seem to hear her. A young girl appears out of the lab, and Macky collapses. All the boomers go rogue, and the hardsuits start malfunctioning, preventing them from stopping Mason taking away the girl. Sylia, frozen to the floor, screams, "Galatea!!!!"
Episode 15: Minute by Minute
Mason is taking Galatea away from the KS, who are all stuck because their hard suits have frozen up. As they seemingly dissolve into the air as they walk further away, Priss burst out of her hardsuit and tells the other to do the same breaking their battery pack. Linna and Nene do so, but Sylia is more damaged (mentally). She keeps mumbling the name, "Sotai" and Priss has to help her out. As they try to find an exit, Priss goes ahead and bumps into Leon, who is surprised to find her there in such skimpy clothes. After a few harsh words from Priss, Leon walks off, leaving her his torch and not reporting her in.
The next day, Sylia is still in a strange mental state, uttering "Galatea" and looking half-dead. Nene visits Macky who is sleeping at Nigel's house, and Nigel tells her that despite the fact that he is a boomer, he is still human as long as she believes him to be. Macky wakes up, and Nigel reveals more of his past to Nene, about how the earthquake occured and how Macky was like a "clone" of Sylia, along with Galatea. Macky has become too humanlike, and that was why he was abandoned and came to find Sylia. In reality tho, he had come to find his other sister, Galatea. (confusing, I know). At this point, Macky suggests that maybe it would be better if he simply ceased to exist, and this makes Nene cry and tell him that he is human to her and that he can't just kill himself like that.
Linna comes to visit Priss who is playing violently on the drums in an empty room, and thy talk about Sylia. There Priss tells Linna that she has pieced together the puzzle, and that she will never wear another hardsuit again. When Linna asks why, Priss says that their hardsuits are really boomers, and thats why Nigel and Macky used GENOM parts to fix them, and why they had such superior technology. This makes Priss even angrier at Sylia for hiding this from them. Just then Leon comes into the light, and he has heard everything. He teases Linna for a while, making her stomp off in anger, calling him "Jerk!" Before she leaves she yells at Priss that she won't give up, even if Priss wanted too. Priss watches her leave then asks Leon whether he can ride a motorbike. They ride off, and Priss and Leon have an interesting conversation -- they seem to finally be opening up to each other. Suddenly, Priss eyes widen in horror -- she is seeing flashbacks of Sylia's traumatic past, as are Nene, Macky and Linna. Priss, Nene and Macky all whisper Sylia's name as the see visions of her screaming, but Linna reacts by screaming, "Get out of my mind! Get out of my brain!" or words to that effect.
Episode 16: I Surrender
After the flashbacks of Sylia's traumatic childhood have passed, Priss runs off, leaving Leon bewildered. Linna also rushes over to Sylia's place, and there she meets Priss. They quickly enter the store and find Nene and Macky watching over a comatose Sylia. There is a green glow coming from her chest, and Linna asks what it is. Nene explains to Linna all that we have learned in the previous episode. Elsewhere, Mason visits the room where he has confined Galatea (a.k.a. the Sotai), where she is also glowing green. He calms her down, and slowly the green in her eyes dissolve away. Sylia's glow also disappears and she wakes up. After some drinks from Henderson, Sylia apologizes for scaring them, and explains to them why they saw her memories. Apparently she had recruited another Knight Sabers team before the present one, but none of them could tap into the full power of their hardsuits, except Sylia. Sylia then realized that she had to make the suits compatible with the brain as well as the body. She confirms the fact that the suits are actually boomers, and scares Nene when she says, "What I need, Nene dear, is someone with whom I share a very special physical compatibility..." and gives Nene the wrong idea. (This scene is so funny, you have to watch it to understand what I mean! ^_^). Priss, still angry with Sylia, refuses to help her anymore and walks off. When Nene hesitates about whether she wants to continue or not, Sylia loses her temper and tells her and Linna that she will destroy the Sotai by herself if she has too.
The AD Police go on strike after a suggestion to merge them with the normal police infuriates them. However, Nene stays for a while longer than everyone else, and suddenly all the doors in the building lock. The rogue boomers stored underground have all come to life again, courtesy of Galatea and Mason. Only Nene, the main boss (Nick Roland), and two other workers, Yanno and Harouma, are left in the building, and despite efforts to kill the boomers, they still advance. Nene tries to contact the others via her computer station, while Nick shoots at the boomers. Meanwhile, Sylia is getting ready to put on her hardsuit, with the aid of Nigel, when suddenly she collapses. The green glow is back. Nigel is concerned, and Macky enters the room, possessed by Galatea. After Nigel reminds him to fight back for Nene, he returns to his normal self and tells Nigel that Nene is in trouble. Linna, elsewhere, gets a call from Macky to help Nene, but not before she has seen images of rogue boomers coming out of her magazine.
Episode 17: Moving waves
Nick and two workers, Yanno and Harouma, dash into an elevator and fire at the boomers trying to enter. They finally manage to close the elevator doors, but the electricity suddenly turns off and Nene realizes that the basement power has been cut off. They try to make their way back up from the basement, encountering many boomers along the way. When their ammo runs out, Nick decides that they need to find some bigger guns. Elsewhere, unaware of what is happening inside the ADP building, Leon and Dailey have a quiet noodle supper and discuss what they are going to do once they are merged into the normal police. They are talking when suddenly Leon receives a call from Nick's daughter, Maria, who tells him that she's worried about her father as she can't get in contact with him. Leon also finds this usual and he and Dailey go to investigate. Nene, meanwhile, sends an emergency beacon from her workstation, but in doing so has to momentarily turn off the monitoring system. The beacon only goes for a few seconds before all the power is seemingly cut off, and Nene is unsure of what has happened. However, she does not have to ponder long as boomers start emerging out from every electrical equipment, including Nene's computer! Nene screams and runs, while a few floors below Nick, Yanno and Harouma are encountering the same problem. Nick tells them that there is an emergency stash of weapons on the 9th floor, and so they begin to make their way there.
Elsewhere, Linna has finally manage to get in contact with Priss, who has been rehearsing with her band. Linna tells Priss that Nene is in big trouble, and Priss immediately rushes to Sylia's place, where the rest of the team is. Priss is angry that they aren't doing anything to help Nene, but Linna states that they don't have their suits. Nigel rushes in and tells them it would take him a week to make just one suit, and that was the best case scenario. In desperation Priss suggests that she take the Motor Slave, but Macky protests that the bike was supposed to work only with her hardsuit on and if she slipped on it without her hardsuit, it would rip her apart like tissue paper. Nigel, however, says that he made the bike able to work both ways, and that it would take him 30 mins give or take to prepare it. Priss takes, and Macky runs down to help Nigel. Meanwhile, Nene is still trapped in the building, scared, but then she finds a gun and manages to shoot a boomer down. She is considerably impressed with herself and runs to help Nick. However, as she is making her way there, two doors roll shut, trapping her in a little space in the corridor. Outside the building, Leon and Dailey have arrived and so have other workers from the ADP who say they received a brief emergency beacon. Priss also roars there and much to Leon's surprise says, "Leon, I need your help."
Episode 18: We Built this City
The Knight Sabers and the ADP are forced to work together in order to rescue Nene and the others trapped inside. Priss and Leon enter the building, and on Priss' Motor Slave, make their way around the place, desperately seeking Nene. Nene, meanwhile, has met up with Nick (in a K-suit), Yanno and Harouma, and they manage to ward off some boomers as they struggle to find a way out. Priss blasts a whole group of the boomers away, and they find Nene and the others. Much to Priss' surprise, Nene immediately runs over to Priss and hugs her. Leon helps Nick and the other two workers keep the boomers at a distance, while Priss rides off with Nene, clearing a path for Leon. Later, they all manage to escape, but find the entrance to the outside completely blocked off by a boomer that has spread itself over the opening. They decide to go up, as it seems like the only way.
Meanwhile, outside, Dailey manages to get the Sparks group to turn the lights back on in the ADP building, but when Leon yells at him to do something, retorts back, "Do something?! I'm all alone out here you big idiot!" But Dailey is surprised when he feels something jabbing into his back, and turns to find that Sylia, Linna and Macky have arrived in the Mobile Pit. They take the helicopter up to meet with Leon and the others as they come out through the roof. Back inside, a whole swarm of rogue boomers begin to make their way up to them, when Nene realizes that they were not really after them, but rather the main communications tower so that they could filter through the whole city's network. Nick then has an idea that involves the liquid nitrogen stored there. When everyone (besides Nick and Yanno) has gotten up to the roof, they see that the whole ADP building is being swallowed up by a sea of boomers, and Dailey can't get near enough to pick Leon and the others up. So, Leon presses the button, and the whole building explodes into liquid nitrogen. The people on the roof, however, somehow remain unscathed. Elsewhere, a previously destroyed boomer enters Qunicy's lair, and cuts off his life system, and Galatea says in a creepy voice, "Play time now."
Episode 19: Are you Experienced?
Leon interrupts the news broadcasted to try and inform the rest of the city of the danger they are in now that the secrets has been uncovered and all the boomer seem to be going rogue. However, GENOM keeps scrambling their lines, faster than they can change frequencies, forcing Leon to stop. Leon decides that they need to destroy the Dragon Line in order to prevent the spread of boomers, and tells Nene to call in the troops. (By this time, both Leon and Dailey know exactly who the Knight Sabers are). Other ADP officers agree to help, and they prepare to destroy the Dragon Line. Elsewhere, Priss visits Sylia at Silky Doll as Sylia is swimming. Sylia comes out of her "pool" and talks to Priss about the hardsuits and boomers. However, she stops half-way and collapses. Priss is concerned and asks, "Sylia, what's wrong?" The green glow in Sylia's chest is evident and Sylia whispers that it is Galatea. Priss immediately calls for Henderson. Galatea is with Mason, and the audience becomes aware that Mason is not completely human. All his internal organs had become cancerous and thus had to be replaced by boomer ones. However, Galatea informs him that he can never really be one of them (meaning a boomer), and Mason replies that he understands that he is not a human or a boomer, but merely an observer.
Nick arrives to the scene along with other ADP officers to join Leon, Dailey and Nene in their mission to destroy the Dragon Line. Meanwhile, Priss arrives at Nigel's place to find Nigel and Macky working tirelessly on building the new suits that Sylia had them made. Linna comes out, showcasing her new suit, and Priss is obviously stunned by it. Nigel states that the overall power of the suit is 7 times greater than their old ones, and Linna tries to tempt Priss into wearing one again, making Priss say, "I can see some drawbacks." Linna replies, "Like what?" Priss:" You're going to have to shave in some strange places." Linna freaks out when she realizes that the stomach area is transparent and calls Macky a pervert, making him blush and stutter. Thankfully for him, Nene calls and tells him that she needs their help. Apparently a huge boomer has risen up from the ground, and the ADP guns are doing nothing to stop it. Leon and Dailey then jump into their car and wait for the boomer to lift them up to its mouth before blasting its head off. The core is destroyed, but the boomer is not!! Another head erupts from the chest, looking more violent than before.
Episode 20: One of these Nights
Nene and the others at the ADP are shocked that they boomer has not been destroyed even after its core has. Nene then realizes that the boomer is getting its power from the skyhook, and the only way to kill it is to sever the lines connecting it to the Dragon Line. The transmission between Nene and Macky is cut, and Priss tells Nigel and Macky to quickly prepare Linna's suit for launch and to make one for her (Priss) as well. This shocks everyone, but Linna does as she is told. When Linna arrives at the scene, Nene is considerably impressed by the new suit, and when Linna destroys the boomer easily, everyone stands in awe. Later on, when they regroup, Nene gushes to Nigel and Macky about how cool Linna was and how she wants one too. Linna then whispers in her ear that the new suits are a little embarrassing and goes on to tell her how they have to go into their suits completely naked. Nene freaks out, and Macky blushes. Meanwhile, Galatea has matured and has turned Mason rogue.
Elsewhere, Sylia is sitting with Nigel, when Nigel stands up to leave. Sylia tells him that her feelings for him are different from the ones associated with their work, and even goes on to tell him that she loves him. Nigel, however, cuts her off and tells her that she should retire because the feedback from her suit is not safe. Sylia, who has been quietly crying smiles and hugs him, thanking him for caring about her. Outside, Priss silently watches before walking off. When Priss arrives at her trailer, strange midget clowns start attacking and biting her, and she is only saved by Leon who shoots them off. After a little talking, Leon tries to kiss her, but they are interrupted by Priss' pager. She is needed at the Mobile Pit, as another boomer has appeared. Leon drives her there, but Sylia, Linna and Nene have already gone. Priss runs in and tells Macky to prepare her suit, while Nigel asks where she got her cuts from. She doesn't answer, but when the liquid metal is poured over her to form the hardsuit, it causes her extreme pain. Elsewhere, Sylia, Linna and Nene battle the boomer rather easily, testing out the functions of the new suits. But then Sylia shouts at Galatea, and the boomer awakes again, grabbing both Nene and Linna.
Episode 21: Close to the Edge
Priss is all geared up, complete with an upgraded Motor Slave (which is now a boomer), and leaves to help the other Knight Sabers after telling Leon she's going alone. Leon kisses her, but she has a helmet on so that makes the experience kind of...weird, to say the least. ^_~ He promises that they'll try that again, next time with the helmet off, but Priss drives off. She arrives at the scene just in time, as Linna, Nene and Sylia are all having trouble warding the giant boomer off. The boomer is trying to fuse with Linna and Nene (painful!), while it has just engulfed Sylia as well. However, Linna comforts Nene, and somehow they are all able to hear each others voices in their minds. From this, Sylia devises a plan to work together and mentally stall the boomer to give Priss a chance at cutting off the boomer's connections to the Dragon Line. It's a crazy plan, but it works, so all girls are free.
Later, all of them meet up at Silky Doll, and have a drink, celebrating the success of destroying the boomer. Linna is feeling a little left out as everybody else are having "couples moment" and she doesn't have a guy. So Henderson starts hitting on her, lol ^^. Leon tries to ask Priss for that kiss he promised before, but she just flicks him in the head and says, "Dream on." Macky has made some sandwiches for Nene, while Sylia and Nigel just smile at each other. Suddenly Macky goes all weird, and walks off quickly, saying "I have to do something." Nene calls after him and follows. Sylia, who has been talking with Priss and Linna, notices what has just happened and looks a little concerned. Downstairs, Macky types relentlessly on the computer, and when Nene asks what he is doing, he says he is backing up all the files while he still can. Shocked, Nene states that it will take forever, and Macky says that's why he's starting now. Later that night, everybody has fallen asleep from drinking too much, when Sylia jerks awake. Nigel wakes also and she tells him that she senses something is going to happen. She is right as suddenly a boomer cracks her window. The intruder alarm sounds, waking everybody else up, except Macky who, to Nene's surprise, has been typing all night. They all congregate in the computer room where Nene and Macky are, while Nene taps into the systems to detect where the boomer are. The readings state that they are on the same floor as them, but the cameras aren't showing anything. Sylia knows they've missed something, but when she suddenly realizes, its too late. The boomers have been making their way towards them through the swimming pool, which had concealed them, but now they were breaking the glass, and preparing to attack the Knight Sabers and everybody else. Only Macky is not concerned. Instead, he has a sinister look on his face.
Episode 22: Physical Graffiti
The Knight Sabers, Macky, Nigel, Leon and Henderson all stare in horror at the boomers scratching and banging at the glass separating them and the water where all the boomers are. Sylia suddenly snaps out of it and calls for the other girls to suit up in the next room. Nigel helps to pour the liquid metal onto them and soon all four girls are in their hardsuits. In the other room, the boomers are getting closer and closer to breaking the glass and the floor shakes, sending Henderson, Leon and Macky tumbling to the floor. Macky quickly gathers several diskettes and puts them in his pocket. The room floods as the boomers finally break through, and the girls help the guys to the surface while warding off the boomers. They all manage to get out of the building safely, and to everybody's shock see that the whole city is empty and engulfed by boomers. They quickly take off in Sylia's Mobile Pit, to a park which Sylia remembers may be the only place free of boomers. (This is because the Dragon Line couldn't reach that far.) There is rustling and they turn to see a frightened man screaming "boomers!!" at the girls in their hardsuits. Other men appear and advance to destroy them, but later they discover it is all a misunderstanding and start a campfire. They all have a good talk (the men escaped only after the evacuation was sounded and had nowhere to go but the park) and they share their food and booze with the girls, Macky, Nigel, Leon and Henderson.
Later, Leon and Nigel go "hunting" (which is really looting in the abandoned city shops), to repay the men back for their food. Suddenly a boomer starts to make its way towards the supermarket Leon and Nigel are in, and the man standing guard yells to them that a boomer is coming and runs. Nigel and Leon also dash off, carrying the bags of food. Back at the campfire, they all joke around and share information, and Linna even gets drunk. Leon looks longingly at Priss. Sylia asks one of the men about what they are going to do now, and he replies that he's not sure. Sylia states that she is still thinking of a plan as well. Nene looks around at all the people, but doesn't see Macky, so she walks back to the Mobile Pit and finds him there, typing away. Nene says that she thought that he already finished all his back-ups, but he doesn't answer. Then she sees that he is accessing Sylia's secret files, just as he starts to glow blue and laugh wickedly. Startled Nene yells, "What's wrong Macky?!" Then as the screen goes black she screams "MACKY!!!!!"
Episode 23: Hydra
Leon talks to Priss about Tokyo's future, Linna rambles on still half-drunk, while Sylia suddenly realizes that she can't see Nene or Macky anywhere. Inside the parked Mobile Pit, Nene screams for Macky, and the controlled Macky knocks her down just as the others arrive. They help Nene up and watch in horror as Galatea speaks through Macky's mouth. Priss takes an ax and cuts the wires connecting his fingers to the keyboard. Later, the Knight Sabers embark on a mission to destroy Galatea who is inside the Genom Tower. They run into trouble when they are unable to pass through the yellow fog surrounding the building which actually turns out to be millions of little nano-boomers assimilating together. When all the girls except Nene are stuck, Macky gathers just enough energy to speak to Nene. Nene is surprised that Macky still remembers her, but Macky tells her that he only remembers that the name was important to him. He tells Nene of a plan he has to allow them to enter the tower, but it will use up the last of his energy. Nene cries for him not to do it, but Macky decides to and the girls are free of the nano-boomer fog. Sylia asks Nene what Macky said to her, but Nene can't find the words. Sylia also cries for Macky, but Nene tells them that they don't have much time, so they enter the tower.
Once inside, they pass a rogue and completely disfigured Mason, before encountering energy balls which, if touched, would immediately turn their suits rogue. Their weapons have no effect at all, so Priss grabs onto a plasma tube and tells Nene to halt the plasma for a moment while she rips it in half and directs it at the balls. Through this, her arms are fusing with the tube, but Priss prevails. Nene restores the plasma flow and it blasts the energy balls to nothing. Linna and Nene come down to Priss and praise her courage, but then they realize that Sylia is missing. Sylia is talking and yelling at Galatea and she takes out her knife and slices Galatea down her left shoulder. However, Macky's voice suddenly starts speaking through Galatea's mouth, and this stops Sylia. Galatea begins attempting to fuse with Sylia, but Nene fires and breaks off the knife connecting Sylia to Galatea. Priss flies up and pulls her away from Sylia, who is moaning for Macky. Suddenly the whole tower turns into a giant image of Galatea and breaks off and heads into space.
Episode 24: Light my Fire
The Knight Sabers, after their experience with Galatea, are all left slightly disorientated and Sylia refuses to do anything except sit beside the brain-dead Macky. So, it's up to Priss, Linna and Nene to stop Galatea from spreading the boomer plague all over the world. With the Motor Slave's help, they manage to leap aboard the skyhook as it takes off into space, and once inside they prepare for the final battle against Galatea for Earth's freedom.
Episode 25: Walking on the Moon (OAV)
Galatea explains a lot about the boomers to the viewer as she travels in space, while the Knight Sabers (minus Sylia) struggle to defeat her before the sun rises. The Knight Sabers are forced to fight almost exact duplicates of themselves that Galatea created before they can progress towards her.
Episode 26: (OAV)
The fight between the Knight Sabers (still minus Sylia) and Galatea continues, and only Priss is left to save the world. Both Linna and Nene are out of the fight and are hurtling towards the Earth, unable to stop or change direction. So they "release the bonds" constricting their hardsuits, and form them into jets so that they can enter the Earth's atmosphere without getting melted. Meanwhile, Galatea infiltrates Priss mind, fusing her to become part of Galatea. However, Priss fights it, but just as she is getting ready to attack Galatea again, her battery pack dies. Unable to do anything but float helplessly in space, Priss seems defeated. However, her Motor Slave speaks to her and appears, and they connect together to destroy Galatea once and for all. As Priss and the Motor Save rip through Galatea, she starts to explode, and strange things rain down upon the Earth, reviving it and rejuvenating life, one of them being Macky's. Sylia runs up to hug him, crying, and Macky, with recognition, says softly, "Sylia."
However, Priss is still stuck in space, her Motor Slave and suit partially destroyed from tearing through Galatea. Sadly, she knows she saved the Earth, but can't save herself. In a twist, Galatea speaks to Priss, and thanks her for showing her a new concept, and gives her a "gift". The strange things rain upon Priss, and Priss manages to re-enter Earth safely, where she stand alone on a hill, out of her hardsuit, and sings.
