When I first started breeding it was difficult to find a stud to introduce to my 'girls' – catteries were 'closed' and no-one was very willing for a complete novice to take on a potential stud kitten.  I now understand why and although I will sell a stud boy I am most particular where they are going to be kept as they often live lonely and uncomfortable caged lives.  I never allow entire males to go to unregistered breeders and their facilities have to be A1. All stud males go with contracts designed to protect them.

Stud boys do have 'special needs' due to unsociable habits of spraying and serenading their girls, sometimes in the early hours of the morning.

Three people did allow me to take service from their 'boys' before I owned a stud of my own.  Thanks to Jenny Cottrell – owner of Kesima Dominion Blue sire of my first litter, Cheryl Papez – owner of CCCoA Ch. Gold Ch. Ambershah Boscalo and Lesley Freeman – owner of CCCoA Db.Gr.Ch. Gold Ch. Eldorato Sebastian.

Finally Vicky-Lee Eves of Shiki Cattery in South Australia entrusted me with my first stud male.  He was a lovely blue point, carrying chocolate…Shiki Daydream Believer ("Clyde").  He (and Vicki-Lee) taught me A LOT!!  A reluctant exhibition cat nevertheless he accounted for himself in the show ring, helped by his wonderful eye colour and coat texture.  As a working stud boy he has left a number of Champions in a variety of colours.

THE GARDEN FEELS AND SOUNDS VERY EMPTY - NO MORE STUDLY GENTLEMEN TO GRACE THE GARDEN WITH THEIR BEAUTY AND THEIR SERENADING - IT IS TIME FOR RETIREMENT AND NEW BEGINNINGS FOR SOME OF THE BOYS:- If you would like to see some of my past stud boys please visit them on the RETIREES PAGE - All the past boys have left a contribution to the development of the distinctive Sharada Birman "type" - something that I am very proud of........

SILVER Champion CHANMALI KUSRI KASSEEM KAADESH - "Kasseem"

Sire: Docsan Dean    Dam: Gr.Ch. Chanmali Hilal Surayeh

Following the sad passing of my friend and breeding partner Debra Raus of Dejavu Birmans I had living here one of her and my favourite gentlemen. His future has been resolved and following an unsettled life so far he has now moved for the last time to live with a new mum Lisa Burns of Ohana Birmans. Deb was justly proud of this boy and he is the sire of some beautiful kittens..... Kasseem is a "straight seal" with no colour in his lines and it is possible he may be available to approved visiting queens if anyone wishes to retain these old lines and wants to get in touch with Lisa. Although he is no longer registered in my name for the moment I am going to leave his photos here as he was one of the most valued boys to grace my cattery
