HOLDINGTON
Our interest in this name is peripheral. Our ancestor Ann MURPHY, was born in County Meath, Ireland about 1833. Where and when she arrived in Australia is unknown. When she married Bernard HAMMELL in Sydney in 1861 she was the widow HOLDINGTON.
It is possible that Ann's first husband was a Stephen Joseph HOLDINGTON, who died 30 June 1859 at Tarban Creek Lunatic Assylum (Gladesville).
