Verbose OS X boot

OS X can boot in verbose mode where it displays in text its activities like a good Unix. This can be activated using Command + V key combination during boot.

Additionally, you can make OS X boot in verbose mode by default. Simply run:

sudo nvram boot-args=”-v”

Type in your password when prompted.
