Linking Partially-Static Binaries

A useful trick where you want to statically link in some libraries, whilest keeping a binary or library dynamic (such as to distribute a binary python module) is to use the "-Wl,-Bstatic" linker option. Any libraries specified ("-lfoo") after this option are linked statically. The opposite of this option is "-Wl,-Bshared".
