The "Music" Questions...
- What was the first album you either bought or were given?
Skaife: First single I ever got given was a 45 of
Kylie's "Locomotion". First album, I think, was called
"Top Of The Pops". It had a bit G on it. Somewhere
around 85-86.
Benno: I was given an ABBA album by my grands in
around 77. Can't remember the name of it but it has left my collection
now!
- First concert you ever went to?
Skaife: Rod Stewart, with Mum and Ivette at Melbourne
Park. Oh dear!
Benno: AC/DC at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, in
the presence of gods!
- If you've been caught singing in the shower, what song were you most
likely singing?
Skaife: Anything from Madonna to Cher to Wendy
Matthews to Barbara to Motown. I like singing in the shower.
Benno: I've never been caught singing in the shower!
- What song reminds you most of the one you love?
Skaife: I have a few; "Feeling Way Too Damn
Good" by Nickelback, "Whole Again" by Atomic Kitten,
"Sooner Or Later" by Madonna - I'll leave it there for the moment.
Benno: "Hanging By A Moment" by Lifehouse,
"Whole Again" by Atomic Kitten and two songs by Kylie "Its In
Your Eyes" and "On A Night Like This".
- So, do you guys have a song?
Skaife: Nuh, we're still working on it.
Benno: Yeah, its something you can't force, although
when "Its In Your Eyes" came on up Oxford the other weekend there
was an instant "thing" going on between us.
- Is there a particular song that "gets you in the mood"?
Skaife: "Bad Girl" and "Wanting"
and "Where All Life Begins" by Madonna. We love Erotica.
Benno: I'm not sure I have one, anything by Aerosmith
works though, except for the ballads, pfff.
- So you're driving to work and you reeeaaally don't want to be there.
What music really picks you up?
Skaife: At present, Nickelback. Otherwise
Madonna's "Erotica" or "Breathless".
Benno: This will shock most that know me, but I'll put
on a Paul van Dyk liveset and that really drives me up the wall. I'll
be kicking ass by the time I get to work.
- Music is such a big part of all our lives, but we've all got a couple that
remind you of something. Pick one and tell us about it.
Skaife: Every time I listen to "Eye Of The
Tiger" it gets me pumped up and it reminds me of
the softball nationals in Adelaide. We listened to it on the way to
the ground every day we travelled to the ground.
Benno: Every time I listen to Aerosmith's
"Pump" it takes me back to a coast trip I did with friends back in
college. Nice one.
- When you're sad, what's your favourite song to put on?
Skaife: I have two. First is
"Playground" by Madonna, and the other one is ... (Ed - she's
looking it up) ... "With One More Look At You / Watch Closely Now"
by Barbara.
Benno: "Breakin' Down" by Skid Row, awesome
power ballad!
