The "Booze" Questions
This could be scary...
- Have you ever had a bad experience on Southern Comfort? Please
explain...
Skaife: Yes! Drank a full bottle straight and
passed out in the middle of Wellington Road on the strip, and then tried to
jump off an overpass...apparently. And then, I was dragged across the
oval by my friends as we escaped the cops.
Benno: Definitely!!! Was a mate's 18th and
I was a virgin boozer, practically skulled a half-bottle and was fine for
about an hour, then spent the rest of the night throwing up on the front
lawn, the green belt, the road, the gutter and even ended up under the
birthday boy's father's car.
- What was the first beer you tasted, and did you like it?
Skaife: Carlton Cold - hated it! Ended up mixing
it with red cordial just to get it down. It actually tastes really
good like that.
Benno: Carlton Light, tasted pretty good and for my
first beer, was a nice light buzz.
- Where's the most notable place you've ever thrown up?
Skaife: The top of Sydney Harbour Bridge during a
bridge climb. Beat that!
Benno: All over the floor of Benson's nightclub on the
Goldie, the floor outside the toilets. Not too many people went to the
toilet after that...they couldn't get in the door!
- What's your favourite spirit?
Skaife: Jack Daniels
Benno: Absolut Vodka
- Now imagine the spirit you mentioned in question 4 just stopped being
made, what do you switch to?
Skaife: Absolut Vodka
Benno: Sapphire Gin
- What's the name of your favourite bartender, past or present?
Skaife: Jesus - Hallam Pub
Benno: Belinda - Billy Westons, made the best fruit tingles!
- On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being a shit-faced know-it-all moron with acute
down syndrome, how do you fair at the end of an average session with
friends?
Skaife: About a 7
Benno: I swing between 4 and 6 these days, I guess that makes me a 5
- We've all got some pretty outrageous boozing stories, which one can you say
you're the most proud of?
Skaife: Pretty proud of the most recent one
actually. Drinking and partying and dancing on podiums in gay
nightclubs on Oxford Street.
Benno: Mine would be exactly the above, and THEN,
getting these guys home without any of us getting hurt. We were all
10's by the way, I just happened to have the compass working.
