Tipping Comp

Tipping Competition Rules, 2023

Competition Number 1.

"The Pillar"

Each tipster selects a team from all matches played in the round.  You receive points for each correct selection. Points for a correct selection will be 2, 3 or 4 points using the following rules:

1.     The team with the lowest odds will be worth 2 points for a correct selection, the team with the highest odds will be worth 3 points, (essentially, 2 points for the favourite and 3 points for the upset), except in the following two scenarios:

2.     If both teams are paying $2.20 or below – a correct selection for either team will be 3 points

3.     If a team is paying $2.80 or over $2.80 – a correct selection for the team paying over $2.80 will be 4 points and the lowest price team will be 2 points

Examples: Rabbitohs $1.85 Vs Roosters $2.10 – if you select the winner of this game you will receive 3 points. Cowboys $1.40 Vs Tigers $2.60 – Cowboys will be worth 2 points and Tigers 3 points. Parra $1.20 Vs Raiders $4.00. Parra will be worth 2 points and Raiders 4 points.

The points to be allocated for each correct selection will be displayed in the drop-down when you make your selections on the submit page, so you don’t need to determine the points each correct selection is worth, this will be done for you.

No points are awarded for a draw and a draw cannot be selected as a game outcome.

* Bonus 1 point will be received if you select all 8 games correctly. Bonus only applies for non-split rounds, a minimum of 8 games in the round must be played for the bonus to be awarded.

The winning team is based on the result including extra time.

In the event of no selections being received you will be allocated the same amount of points as the tipster who received the lowest amount of points in that round. In the event of your selections being received late, you can only select games that have not commenced and you will be awarded no points for any earlier games.

Your points are accumulated for the preliminary rounds and the tipster with the most points after the final round is the winner. There will be prize money for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Expect prize money to be around $3,500 for 1st, $1,600 for 2nd, $850 for 3rd, $450 for 4th and $250 for 5th.

Competition Number 2.

The Lock

Each week you must select one game as your "Lock of the week".

The amount of dollars earned if your Lock of the week wins is equal to the return on $1 as offered by NSW Sports TAB. The odds used for this competition are the prices as displayed on this websites tipping page.

For example: If Parramatta are playing Brisbane and I select Parra as my Lock of the Week and they are paying $4.00 for the win, I will receive $4.00. If they lose, I will receive $0. If I'd selected Brisbane in this game and they won paying $1.20, then I will receive $1.20 to my virtual lock account.

Draws cannot be selected for this competition.

In the event of no selections being received, or being received late, you will be allocated $0 for that week. The winning team is based on the result including extra-time. No dollars are awarded in the event of a draw after extra-time.

There will be prize money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Expect prize money to be around $1,700 for 1st, $850 for 2nd and $400 for 3rd.

Competition Number 3

The Punt

Every tipster will receive a virtual betting account of $1,027. This money can be used to punt on any one game you choose each week. The only betting option you can choose from is Head to Head. The odds used will be the same odds offered for the Lock competition.

You can elect to punt no money. There is no minimum bet for this competition. The maximum bet allowed is the total of your punt account. If you elect to Punt an amount that is in excess of your balance the bet will be reduced to equal your total punt account, in other words, you will be deemed to have selected a "Pot" bet. The winning team is based on the result including extra time, in the event of a draw, the result is a "skinner" and all bets are considered losing bets.

In the event of no selection being received, or being received late, you will have been deemed to have made no punt bet for that week.

There will be prize money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Expect prize money to be around $1,700 for 1st, $850 for 2nd and $400 for 3rd.

.

 Competition Number 4

The Streak

Tipsters are trying to select the biggest streak of winners for the season. You may select as few or as many games each week that you want (including none). Build your Streak by stringing together as many correct tips in a row as possible. As soon as one of your picks loses, your new streak starts again at zero. A new streak can start during a round if one of your selections loses. Your Highest scoring streak for the season will be maintained as well as your current streak. Your highest streak score will be used to determine your position in this competition.

The order of the games as they appear on the Tipping Comp website will be used as the order for the streak games. This means that when 2 games are on simultaneously, one game will be used over the other to determine which game is 1st for streak purposes.

It is not possible for the same tipsters to win multiple times in this competition, your highest streak only will be considered your score.

The winning team is based on the result including extra time, in the event of a draw, the result is considered a loss.

In the event of no selection being received, or being received late, you will have been deemed to have made no streak bets for that week.

There will be prize money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Expect prize money to be around $1,700 for 1st, $850 for 2nd and $400 for 3rd.

Competition Number 5 :

The Darts

Each tipster will start on 500 points. You are required to select a single team each week. The points scored by that team will be deducted from your total. The aim is to finish on exactly 0 points.

If your score goes below 0, you have “bust” that week and you will be awarded 0 points for that round. You remain alive and can select again the following week.

The first tipster to finish on 0 will be declared the winner and the competition will finish.

This is a “winner take all” comp, prizemoney is $1,000.

Competition Number 6 (Sponsors Comp)

Super Saturday World Cup

This competition will be structured along the same lines as the Soccer World Cup.

The first 15 Rnds of the tipping comp will be the “Qualifiers”. The Top 31 players, plus the Leader of The Bull Premier league will go through to the “Group” stage. You will be placed in a group of 4 and you play against each of your group over 3 Super Saturday’s. The top 2 in each group progress to the “Knockout” rounds. You play against an opponent in one game, the winner progresses, the loser is out. This continues right through to the Finals. The top 2 play for 1st & 2nd, 3rd and 4th playoff for 3rd.

Scoring System:

It is simply 3 tips on the Super Saturday games.

Game 1 – You’re tipping overs/unders

Game 2 – You’re tipping the Winner at the line

Game 3 – You’re tipping the Winner Head to Head.

Qualifiers:

Run over the first 15 rounds of the season. Each Super Saturday selection is worth 1 point. After Rnd 5, the top 8 automatically qualify for the Main draw. After Rnd 10, the next top 8 qualify for the Main draw. The remaining 5 rounds will determine the final 16 players in the Main draw. Note that one spot is reserved for the leader of The Bull Premier League at Rnd 15, unless they have already qualified.

The Group Stage:

This is now the big show. There will be 8 groups of 4 players. You play against each player in your group once over 3 rounds. Each correct tip on Super Saturday now counts as a goal. Score more goals than your opposition and you win the match.

The Knockout Rounds:

The tournament now becomes a knockout. Tips and goal scoring concept remains the same. The only difference is that the “draw” becomes a possibility. Therefore, there is a penalty shootout. In the Channel 9 4:00 game on Sunday, Player 1 gets the “unders” and player 2 gets the “overs”. Winner progresses.

Prizemoney for the Super Saturday World Cup will $2,100, which includes a $600 input from our major sponsor, Jack Horner Financial Solutions. 1st is $1,200, 2nd is $600, 3rd is $300.

Competition Number 7

 Club Championship

The Club Championship will be a combination of your position in the Pillar, Lock and Streak competitions.

No separate selections are required for this competition.

**Important Note** There are 2 divisions for the Club Championship only. The top 10 placegetters from the 2022 Winston Monkey League have qualified for promotion to the Bull Premier League (Div 1) and the bottom 10 placegetters from the 2022 Bull Premier League plus any new entrants have been relegated to the Winston Monkey League (Div 2). At the end of 2023, the bottom 10 placegetters in The Bull Premier League will be relegated to the Winston Monkey League and the top 10 placegetters in the Winston Monkey League will be promoted to the Bull Premier League for 2024.

There is no prizemoney for this competition. You are playing to attempt to stay or be promoted to Premier League in 2024. The advantage of being in the Bull Premier League (outside of the stench of being in the Winston Monkey League) is that a one-off competition may be included just for the Bull Premier league only. For this year, there is one spot allocated to the leader of the Bull Premier league in the Super Saturday World Cup.
