August 11 2008 Well, the times they are a changing, and starting to accellerate one thing I never counted on, was my wife getting seriously ill/older and it looks like I must look towards closing within 12 months for sure as this christmas is looking towards a closure of all artwork files etc. so if any bugger has an ADSL connection for emails answering and sending and is (maybe) a bit out of town, (as most contacts are by mail order) also that you will need a large 30' x 30' (10m x 10m) shed that you can set up the equipment and carry on making small runs of circuit boards (obviously you must know how to use CAD, Protel etc) then maybe it is time for me to start talking because an RCS closure is now (sadly) on the cards of inevitability. A working knowledge of DOS (which is vastly superior for screen regen) than Windozzz is a distinct advantage, remember users of all PfW programs permit the person to be a creator of artworks, but certainly not a designer once you hit the auto placement of comps. and auto route, you are not a designer but a (most likely) very good, 'creator'. The views are biased from seeing some 30+ years of some artworks presented. The move from Bexley to Chester Hill 8 years ago sure was a lot of fun, and not without any disadvantages in the move, (and I am very gratefull for those who helped) but the move was a fantastic way, to clean under the tables of lots of 'old' stuff, which would never be used, ever. If any body wants to make circuit boards on a small scale, (but have the capacity to expand and the overseas contacts for volume etc), then this factory has some very unusual characteristics, (consider this, this is the oldest board maker in the world today, circa 1943). I will be open to offers, from now on till christmas or early new year, then closure ..... RCS (Radio/Design) designs circuit boards and makes prototypes for an incredible list of customers, many would surprise you. You can pick up the plant and move to a new location, no big deal, (been there, done that). All the CAD files, magazine board artworks and files and NEGATIVES etc So there, soon please make contact, as I will have to retire in the future or unless you find me slumped over a bloody computer terminal. oh, penalty of taking over RCS, I would like to come as 'baggage' for a few years to give pointers etc. (if wanted) plus keep the web updated and the negative file records etc as well as preparing artwork for fast turnaround 'riston' prototypes using ortho negatives to make UV Exposed Industrial and Magazine circuit boards.
