We are a very
old circuit board maker (1943), and we are NOT permitted
by law to manufacture
circuit boards made from the FREEPCB a/w files
with the reason
being, we do NOT have a $390.oo licence as issued to us and
it is our decision
NOT to pay to have to make a designers circuit board
depending on
which variant of software he/she may choose to use.
But you (the designer)
can play out your own artworks onto clear OHTP's from
a LASER PRINTER
and submit them to us for viewing and cost estimate then
we can make contact
UV Negative's, followed by RISTON UV Expose & Develop
then finally
Dalo Touchup, Etch, Drill, Roll Solder, Wash & Trim.
The OHTP's must be from a LASER PRINTER, NOT an toy inkjet printer
Nearly
all of our other customer base use one of the variants of PROTEL,
even
all the project circuit boards as used in the Electronic magazines here
in
Australia, are all variants of PROTEL from EASYTRAX to PfW 2.8 toXP
as
they can all save in the 'defacto' Industrial Standard of PfW 2.8.
The most sucessful
magazine project ever here in Australia,
was drawn on
EASYTRAX with an excess of 14,000+ made and sold.
From
all reports I have had passed onto me, the program FREEPCB
is an excellent intro/trainer
windows program and it does permit the
manufacture of clear OHTP's
artworks which are needed for
UV Negative's to be made
and Single Sided board making, thus
permitting the 'home brewer'
the make their own boards, but to send a
Gerber file to a local larger
CNC board maker, requires bucket loads of money.
The above method
of clear OHTP's is only used for small S/S prototype quantities
but for serious
production, a Protel file is the more commonly used program.
For us to accept GERBER files without us, the board maker 'viewing' the
file
to check pads / tracks & holes would be lunacy, and thus sorry, go
elsewhere.
I suggest you
send us information for a quote based on . . .
Length x Width
x Holes and Quantity of boards,
assuming they
are Single Sided Circuit Board OHTPs.
This program is
excellent for producing OHTP's for Single Sided boards.
It can be easilly
used for S/S, but it would be irresponsible for us to attempt
Plated Through
Hole circuit boards from an 'unknown factor'
as most other designers DO NOT HAVE 40 years of experience.
.
OHTP's
are 'OVERHEAD TRANSPARENCIES' and they are thermally linear.
