A Sewell from Sheerness
A newspaper report of the wedding of;
MR. J. S. CLARKE AND MISS I. E. SEWELL.
A quiet wedding took place at St. Paul's Church, Sheerness on Saturday, between Mr. James Sidney Clarke, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. S Clark, and Miss Ivy Elizabeth Sewell third daughter of Mr. and Mrs.J. W. Sewell, of 32 Spring Garden Passage, Sheerness.
The bride, who was given away by her sister Mrs. G. Roberts, presented a pleasing picture in a dress of royal blue elephant crepe and beige straw hat, and carried a pair of beige silk gloves. The bride was attended by Mrs F.C. Howard, (friend of the bride) as matron of honour. Mrs. Howard was tastefully attired in a blue elephant crepe dress and brown velvet hat.
The duties of best man were ably discharged by Mr. T. Parker (friend of the Bride).
Following the marriage ceremony which,was conducted by the vicar, Ray. P, W. Greenway a reception was held at 24 Railway Road, Sheerness, the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. Reeves (friends of the bride). A happy company of guests were entertained to a delightful wedding breakfast, and at the close of the festivities the customary congratulatory toasts were proposed and the best wishes of all present extended to the bride and bridegroom
Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Clarke received a large number of useful wedding gifts.
The wedding cars were supplied by the Sea View Garage, Sheerness.
