Tamworth
Festival 2002
-
- As I watched the sun go down this
evening
- And I think of what happened today
- The day was, in fact more than ten
days long
- Here we were up 'round Tamworth way
-
- It began at the Gold Guitar Gift Shop
- And it finished in Tamworth Arcade.
- Lots of music we heard and the new
songs we learnt
- Not to mention the new friends we
made.
-
- Donella Plane, who's a very good
friend
- Was launching her brand new CD
- The Feral Swing Katz were out at The
Pub
- And they played 'til a quarter to
three.
-
- We caught Mary Heard at the Southgate,
- Allan Tomkin's great showcase at Wests
- Alby Pool, we saw in The Cowboy Bar,
- and we still reckon he's one of the
best.
-
- The Gig guide's a bit hard to follow
- And some of the shows a bit
silly
- but we really enjoyed, at the RSL
- A show that they called "luv
ya Willie"
-
- We were pleased to see so many
youngsters
- Singing Lefty and Jimmy and Hank,
- Hardly any, this year sang Shania.
- For good taste I'd just like to say
thanks.
-
- We saw poets and bands and saw buskers
- Harp players and great balladeers
- And the wolverines down in the Dungeon
- was the best show they've put on in
years
-
- Sure there were a few disappointments,
- As we sit at the end and take stock
- But to hear lots of good country music
- We can cop just a few that are rock.
-
- So we thank all you muso's and singers
- And I speak for both Judy and me
- But it will seem like nearly a
lifetime
- Until January two thousand and three
