in the Vines'
- With a magnificent sunset over the Brokenback Mountain's in the beautiful Hunter
Valley as a backdrop, A Twilight Country Music Spectacular in the
heart of Hunter Valley Wine Country, Lovedale, NSW, began their
inaugural and, hopefully, an annual event. In aid of the Hunter Heart
Foundation and held at the very pretty Gartelman Vineyards, the event was
very well organized by Len Knight and run by the Rotary Club of
Cessnock. Featuring some of the
countries best musical performers, Mark Tempany, Pat Drummond (Independent Artist of the Year
2001, Andrew Clermont (One of Australia’s most celebrated
fiddlers), David Hellens (award winning banjo player), Karen Lynne with Acoustic
Shock, who have just brought out their new CD " Blue Mountain
Rain", Gary Steele (previously with John Williamson's Band), Pamela
Drysdale (from The Bushwackers) & Len Knight (award winning Bush Poet).
With the fans sitting back in their deck chairs and sipping on a cool
glass or two of the delicious wines available as well as listening to the
great country and bluegrass music and with a clear starry night overhead,
life is good. Congratulations to Gartelmans Vineyards and to the organizers
on an excellent night.
