Telephone Policy

Most conditions are best treated at a face-to-face consultation. How,ever should a situation arise where you require to speak to a doctor on the telephone, this can be arranged for you. If a doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and you will advised when it is likely that the doctor will return your call. Our call centre staff are trained in emergency triage procedure and if necessary would recommend first aid procedures whilst awaiting the doctor or in an emergency may advise you to seek urgent medical help by phoning an ambulance or presenting to your nearest hospital casualty department.

Additional Fees

Under some circumsances, the patient may incur additonal fees. This may occur if they are referred on for further investigations or to another doctor (eg. A Specialist), you should ask that provider about fees and other costs that may arise.

 

Test Results

In the event that the doctor has ordered pathology or other urgent tests, the results will be directed to your own doctor for follow up.

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this service to maintain security of personal health information at all times to ensure that this information is only available to authorized members of staff.

 

Complaints and Suggestions

If you have a problem, we would like to hear about it. PLease feel free to talk to the General Manager, Mr Michael Feltham, the doctor or our telephone operator. We take your concerns, complaints, and suggestions seriously. However, if you wish to take the matter further and feel that you need to discuss the matter outside the facility, you may wish to contact the Health Care Complaints Commission, Locked Bag 18 Strawberry Hills NSW or Freecall 1800 043 159.
