American Prescription Drug Commercials - Pharmaceutical companies in the United States spend a huge, huge amount of money annually on commercial advertising. In this article, we take a brief look at American prescription drug commercials.
Of course, this article hardly intends to be construed as the definitive analysis of American prescription drug commercials. We simply do not have the space available to go on ad naseum in discussing American prescription drug commercials.
There are a number of types of drugs that are frequently the subject of American prescription drug commercials. One of the types of drugs that are most frequently the subject of American prescription drug commercials are meds designed to assist with erectile dysfunction.
Viagra has been a major subject of American prescription drug commercials. Viagra commercials in the U.S. market have taken a number of interesting twists and turns.
One of the most unusual American prescription drug commercials dealing with Viagra was hosted by former United States Senator and 1996 presidential candidate Robert Dole.
Senator Dole became the talking head promoting Viagra for a number of years. Within a year after running for President of the United States, Bob Dole was hawking Viagra. He remained the chief and primary spokesperson for and about the drug for a few years.
Other meds that are common subjects of American prescription drug commercials are drugs designed to control cholesterol. A number of drug manufacturers spend a significant amount of money promoting a variety of meds designed to lower a patient’s cholesterol levels.
American pharmaceutical companies are expected to continue to expand the amount of time they spent promoting their products. American prescription drug commercials are expected to become more prevalent and costly in the immediate future.
Many drug companies have found that they can readily and easily increase their revenue streams by appealing directly to the consumer through American prescription drug commercials. Rather than rely solely on physicians recommending one med over another, these companies are reaching out directly to the end use consumer through American prescription drug commercials.
