Outline Diabetes Type 2 - By way of this short article we do want to present an interested reader with a health primer, and outline diabetes type 2. Please do keep in mind that this article is intended as nothing beyond a simple primer.
We hope that through this article we can provide to the reader some very basic information on diabetes and an outline diabetes type 2.
If a person suspects that he or she is afflicted with diabetes, it is crucial that such a person contact his or her physician immediately. Diabetes can be a life threatening illness. But, if there is intervention during the early stages of the disease, a person can live a long and productive life.
Once again, we merely are providing an outline diabetes type 2 to help our readers understand some of the basic symptoms of type 2 diabetes.
The American Diabetes Association (ADA) estimates that there are about 5.4 million people in the U.S. who don’t know that they have diabetes.
With that in mind, we think it’s important for you to know the classifications and symptoms of diabetes.
Type 1: Immune-mediated diabetes (formally called juvenile-onset diabetes)
Type 2: Insulin-resistant/deficient (formerly called adult-onset diabetes)
Type 1 tends to occur in children or adolescents. Type 2 usually occurs in adults age 45 and over, and who are overweight. The symptoms of Type 2 are often vague.
Here’s a list of several of the early warning signs of Type 2 diabetes.
* Increased thirst
* Frequent urination
* Increased hunger
* Unusual weight loss
* Fatigue
* Slow-healing wounds and frequent skin infections
* Blurred vision
* Numbness or tingling in feet or hands
* Recurrent vaginitis (Women)
* Erectile dysfunction (Men)
