Electronic Medical Practice - The concept of the electronic medical practice has taken on wider relevance in the world today. Indeed, there are more and more instances of the electronic medical practice being utilized.
You might be wondering what exactly is an electronic medical practice. In simple terms, an electronic medical practice is set up whereby a doctor is at one location while a patient is at another. The doctor actually conducts an evaluation of the patient using electronic means -- television, Internet, what have you.
While clearly a doctor cannot make every diagnosis through an electronic medical practice, he or she can do quite a lot in this manner.
One area in which the electronic medical practice is gaining grounds is within prison systems around the world. The way the electronic medical practice is set up for prison systems is simply this:
1. A doctor is at one centralized location
2. The inmates come to see the doctor (electronically)
3. The doctor makes his diagnosis and recommendation after the electronic encounter with the inmate patient
For the most part, the electronic medical practice used in prison systems thus far have received solid revues.
The concept of the electronic medical practice is expected to expand in the coming decade. This projected expansion is, of course, contingent upon the electronic medical practice working well overall in the areas in which it is being used thus far.
One can imagine that the electronic medical practice will prove to be useful in those areas in which it is difficult to get a full time doctor to work or live.
More information on the future of the electronic medical practice can be found inside the covers of a number of leading medical journals, all of which can be accessed at local libraries and through inter-library loan programs.
