Diabetes Fmla - In this article we provide some basic information on diabetes FMLA. At the outset, we appreciate that many readers may not know what exactly diabetes FMLA means. This will be a general overview of the diabetes FMLA topic. FMLA is the acronym for the Family Medical Leave Act of 1993.
FMLA was enacted in the United States during the presidential administration of Bill Clinton. In its simplest terms, the FMLA allows a worker in certain types of companies to take a leave of absence from work because of a health condition he or she is afflicted with or because of a health condition that a member of his or her family is afflicted with at the time of the leave request.
FMLA assures that the person taking the leave will be able to return to a position of employment at the company -- a similar position of employment that pays the same as the position being left at the start of the leave period.
In addition to a guarantee of job placement, the FMLA allows provides that health coverage will continue during the period of the leave.
There are instances when diabetes FMLA comes into play. Diabetes FMLA is a situation in which a person diagnosed with diabetes needs to rely upon the provisions of FMLA. A person is able to take a diabetes FMLA leave if the condition of the disease warrants the same.
In a similar vein, a diabetes FMLA leave can also be taken if a designated family member has diabetes and is facing a serious bout as a result of the disease.
