“a number of factors have contributed to the rise in criminal counterfeiting activity. Included among them are the growing involvement in the drug supply chain by under-regulated wholesalers and repackagers, the proliferation of internet pharmacies, and the increased importation of medicines from Canada and other countries.”
Pfizer sums up its international impact:
“as the world’s largest biomedical research and pharmaceutical company, with 122,000 employees in over 150 countries, Pfizer has a unique opportunity to be a good corporate citizen. We welcome this challenge and know we can achieve this only by incorporating the needs and interests of our various stakeholders.”
