Alliance for Natural Health and Michael and Alex Hall of
BioCeuticals.
Michael and Alex remain unconvinced the existing
regulations for nutritional substances in
Australia will not be changed by future
governments to bring them in line with what is
alarmingly occurring in Europe. They believe it is
imperative the Europeans resist the implementation
of what can only be called draconian restrictions.

The Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) instigated a
class 1 recall “can cause death or permanent injury”
of all vitamin supplements produced by PAN after a pharmaceutical drug, dimenhydrinate
(Travelcalm) was found to have caused minor discomfort (dizziness,
sickness), yet only issued a class 2 recall
“defects could cause illness…but are not class
one” when VIOXX
the anti-inflammatory
drug, found to have killed 55,000 Americans so far (estimated 138,000 deaths)

If supplements are regulated the same as
pharmaceutical drugs here in Australia then why do we pay a GST on our health supplements?
Most drugs are GST free & are subsidised by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
Sixty percent of Australians use supplements and they pay for them out of their own hard earned money & they have to pay GST.
Every year the Australian Government gives the drug industry millions of dollars for research & development of new drugs, The health industry receives little or no money
or grants for research & development. |

Blackmores boss blasts regulations
