Mr Bruce Leaving - 1971

November 1971

After six years as deputy superintendent of Beechholme Children's Community, Mr Terry Bruce is leaving Banstead.

He came to the home in 1965 as assistant superintendent and he took over his present position a year ago.

Mr Bruce will be moving on to take up a job with the Southwark Catholic Children's Society as a resident child care adviser when his time at Beechholme ends on Saturday.

Mr Bruce, who is married and has three children, says of his stay at the Fir Tree Road home: "I have enjoyed my time here very much indeed."

His wife. Heather, was an assistant matron at Beechmholme when the couple first arrived.

In his spare time Mr Bruce is a keen tennis player and is a member of Banstead Downs Tennis Club although he "never aspires to play in any of the teams."
