Lane Cove West 8 , Chatswood Rangers 2

30 August  2008, Castle Cove

Not much on offer for either side other than another game. This would normally read correct if we weren’t playing Rangers, which lets just say we have an interesting relationship with.

So we are down for a kick around and we expected to struggle having 11 out from our regular side, however we had so many ring ins that we would have made the owners of Fine Cotton look like saints.

The game started off a little disjointed for us, but that was to be expected with so many different players in the side. We had a couple of small chances however nothing for them to worry about. As the game went on there tackles started to become a little more Rangers like even though it was meant to be friendly. We took the lead with some good passing. Then they hit back with 2 quick goals to make it 2-1 at half time.

We made a couple of changes at halftime and were able to let loose the clubs hidden Treasure…………..Nigel Blow. He offered us some speed and width with runs that started form deep, which their defence were unable to control. He was played in no less than 6 times and finished 4 wonderful goals.

It was a great way to finish the season with some really good football.
