The
Pitch

Lane Cove West battled back twice at a puddle strewn and sodden Blackman
Oval to gain a draw against the 3rd place Linfield B
team.
With Will missing in action leaving his post at Missing point station 2
minutes before his lift arrived, and Rob F being involved in a car crash some
late changes meant, Peter Alorati returned in goal and John Maybury
was called in to play in the centre of the park...
After no training or games for a couple of weeks Lane Cove new that
fitness would be an issue especially with a game the following day against
Asquith.
In a muddy first half Keeper Alorati Made numerous superb saves to keep
Lane Cove in the game however an unexpected error after an edge of the box freekick saw the ball slip from his grasp and a Lindfield
striker was first to the ball to tap in....
After 30mins an assassin hiding in the trees struck and Sean went down
in the centre of the pitch, unfortunately it was a serious ankle injury and
Marcus replaced the centre back who been having a great game.
Lane Cove pushed forward and a couple of good saves from the Asquith
Keeper one from a rasping Alex pile driver meant it looked like the home team
would go into the break 1-0 down..
But Rob " I can only last 50 minutes"
Sutherland turned the game round with a great shot that went in off the left
post to send the home Fans Sorry Substitute into raptures.
The 2nd half went like this.........
Lindfield attacked using the dry side of the pitch to play some good
football.... Lane Cove West defended well even with Dec hoping about on one leg
Alorati makes numerous saves..... They score with a tap in after the left
winger cuts the ball back to an unmarked player.......
We go to three at the back ....
Then with 2 minutes left Aja does as all good
strikers should chases down a shot and hacks the ball into the back of the net from
a puddle on the goal line after the Lindfield keeper spills the ball and his
first shot gets stuck in the puddle....
Milce blows the
whistle... and somehow we came away with a point!!!
