Divison 3 - RESERVE GRADE - MATCH REPORT

UTS 2 - 1 Lane Cove West

Date: 1st May 2004
Location: Away - University of Technology

The trip to the UTS Enormobowl saw more beach weather and the biggest crowd of the season packed in to watch us take on a team with
an average age 10 years below ourselves. Chopper and Ed up front had a chance early on, but with 5 minutes gone a mix up at the back
saw us go 1 - 0 down to a sloppy goal. As with most grounds this year the pitch was like concrete and around 15 minutes in Chopper
fell awkwardly and was taken off with a twisted knee.

Thankfully JP had already got the beers in, so all was not lost for Chop. They had 2 or 3 good players who pushed forward at every
opportunity and we were struggling to settle down into our new 3/5/2 formation. Bruce, Willie and Ritchie were at the back, JP,
Mulv, Warren, Joe and Hank across the middle with Rod and Ed up front. A breeze picked up into our faces and another attack by UTS
saw us go 2 - 0 down.

Mulv rang the changes at half time and we switched back to 4/4/2 with Sean, Brian and Al coming on. With the wind, down the slope
and in our more familiar formation we immediately got back into the match and a cross (or maybe shot - who knows?) from Mulv on the
right was steered in by Ed. The last 30 minutes saw us camped in their half and applying real pressure, but it wasn't to be and we
lost the match 2-1 when really we should have won. We know we can play better than we did today.
