Match Report

The As turned in a poor performance on Saturday against a very good Hornsby Heights team 
that deservedly won four goals to one. However there was controversy, some bickering, injury and entertainment too!

The game started at a much more rapid pace than our previoius outings and with a number of players arriving late to 
the game we did not have our ideal line up to commence (I do this because I worry about injuries). Hornsby took the 
lead with a long range shot that we or goalie Brian Moran could do little about. We had a settled twenty minutes 
before Con Busu scored with a well taken free kick.

The second half was certainly not the best of the season, with a lack of discipline compounded by some book-keeping 
by the man in black worthy of an Enron auditor (sorry Mark) that resulted in saintly Stuart Marshall being ejected 
from the field of play after said official mistakenly thought he had previously been booked while in fact it was 
none other than head kickee Brett Gillespie, evening up after objecting to the stud to the melon once too often for 
his liking! Then Con and yours truly decided that we had been getting on too well, so had a verbal barney! While all 
of this action was going on the opposition managed to slip 3 past Benoit Barthez!

Not sure who votes should go to - I will consult some other players. I think that Stuart, Pete Nolan and me were in 
the running for them though!

Next week can we make sure we turn up at least a half an hour before kick off: we're at home.
